Wow! The contrast is beautiful! Helps me think outside the box! Thanks for sharing, Linda!

Thinking out of the box is just my style, Judith. LOL! I seem to always do that.
My problem is I'm not sure how to do the star points on the borders. Do I leave them off? Hand-applique them onto the border? Add a separate thin border with the points before the outside border? Any suggestions? Of course, this will be easier to see when the main part of the top is done. In the picture I posted, I think their sashing strips are wider, so the stars are a bit larger. And I think that they use the thin border with the points and the wider border of the same fabric. I can do that, but not sure. Have to put all the blocks together, then decide, I guess.

Your quilt is great! You could leave off the stars on the exterior altogether, so you won't have to piece the skinny exterior points.
Enjoying the day! Cristy |

Linda, I really like what it looks like. As far as the stars I would do what would be the easiest to assemble. I really like the stars! You are so quick at assembling all the quilts. Wow!

Cristy -
Did you get the squares from Linda and Joyce yet? I had to resend them because of an incorrect address on my part. You should have received them.

I received Marti's squares - thank you! Denise - I think we should wait a bit longer for Canada Post - we've had a lot of storms here.

Did everyone get my music fabrics? If not, it may have gone to Rebecca, since she got 2 sets. lol! Otherwise, you got extras, Rebecca.

Here is my music quilt top SO FAR - the star point sashing is not difficult, but there are a lot of pieces and a lot of sewing for each row. It is definitely time intensive. This is only half the quilt. When all rows and sashing are done, I'll add a border before it is quilted. What do you think?

I put together my Music squares, 6-1/2" squares, and travel squares at the retreat last week. Just need borders and I'm done with the tops. I'll show you soon.

Here is a picture of my finished 10" squares music quilt. I gave it to Ed's son and his wife for Christmas. They are very active in music in their church.
