Here is some of what my Christmas looks like at my house!:

This set has a sticker on it that says it's from the 50s.

Some 33 1/3 LP records that used to be my mom's. There are couple more in another spot.

Silky decided a sunny spot with Mr. and Mrs. Elf was good for a nap.

A few Angel themed ATCs

Some of my tiny trailers . . . yes I'm a glamper! The large one on the left is a cookie jar. On the left in the window is a glamper tag. Some were gifts, some were my own purchases

A couple more tiny trailers

Antique postcards, with interesting messages and old postmarks on the back. In front on the table is a card and ATC made for my be Sharon . . . aka "bobbinrobbin".

I've used several poinsettia plants to decorate. Here with an angel made from a hymnbook. I made about twenty of those that year, most were used to decorate our church.

Bowl from large aspen burl made by my hubby as are the ornaments in it.

Thanks for letting me share! MERRY CHRISTMAS!! CJ

I love seeing everyone's beautiful decorations. I decided to post a picture of my most cherished Christmas decoration. Inspired by MaryJane and made by our own Windy Pines, (aka my cousin Michele) here is a pair of old skates that Michele, her mom and sister painted for me several years ago. I have it hanging at my front door and it always makes me smile when I see it. Merry decorating!

These decorations are all so beautiful and inspiring! I should really get to it!
I finished meticulously wrapping lights into the branches of our tree yesterday... then one of the middle strings burned out beyond repair. At 15-years-old, I guess it's time for those lights to go.

I love that, Dawn. I have my old skates, and won't go skating again because of my hip replacement, so I may steal MJs idea from you, too! That would be a great use for my old skates. I love the colors you painted them in - and the poinsettia's. Do you know what kind of paint they used?

I've asked my cousin Michele, Windy Pines, to post on here what kind of paint they used on the skates. They are even more beautiful in person than the picture. It is a superb way to use old skates Linda, have fun painting yours & please post a picture for us to see!

Hey Farmgirls, did you notice that in the new MJF magazine on page 87, MaryJane put together some darling gift tags we can have. Today I decoupaged the page on card stock paper and then cut them out and put a string in them to tie on packages.
They are so darling and fun!! Check it out for yourselves!!

This afternoon I baked up some salt dough ginger ornaments. They are full of cinnamon, cloves and allspice and baked at 325 degrees for one hour. The scent baked out of them but I have some cinnamon essential oils that I can use of the backside to give them a scent. Their eyes are peppercorns and their buttons are cloves. I think I will hang a few on the tree, add a couple to some packages and use the large ones in a basket with some greenery for a kitchen decoration.

Oh Dawn... I luv your painted ice skates... I have a friend who painted an old pair of leather cowboy boots to match her trailer... if I recall she used acrylic paints...
Winnie... luv your cute salt/dough ornaments... I wonder if you can add glitter to them before baking or maybe just ever so lightly mist them with spray adhesive and then add the glitter.... I would add glitter to everything if I could!!! Lol!!!

hi everyone love the decorations. the skates that dawn posted were painted with acrylics. Maryjane had a pair in an issue of the magazines, many years ago. Dawn had mentioned how cute she thought the idea was, and we went from there. I am glad she liked them so much. merry christmas

Michele... you did a wonderful job on the skates... did you paint directly on the skates or did you use Gesso first? lastly did you seal the skates with a varathane or acrylic seal...?? I should imagine if they are for indoor decor they won't need to be sealed... but I am thinkjng about doing something similar to hang outside my trailer ... Merry Christmas

I wanted to share with you some vintage Christmas things I have. The first photo are three postcards. The top left one ( given to me by CeeJay in a recent swap) is dated 1910 from S. Dakota, the top right one is from Chicago, Ill 1911, and the bottom one is from 1908 but I cannot read the place it was sent from. I love the vintage art of this era!
.jpg?v 20336413)
The next photo contains two candy holder ornaments. The old one on the left belonged to my Mother. She was born in 1914 so I am guessing it was given to her at some time before she grew up. The second one is a Santa designed on the same idea. This one was made by my mother who made the Santa face, arms and legs. Both ornaments have an opening in the back and the netting had a pouch that you could fill with candy. I just love these vintage ornaments!
