Today we got another dog. Primrose is a husky/lab? mix that my husband found on our road in August and was adopted by our daughter. Carol tried to control her- lessons, crate, dog sitting to socialize her, but today she was at the end of her rope. The lousy part is my husband took down the fence in the front yard.
Prim is a good dog, but still a puppy. I hope we survive.

Awww, Vanessa she does look like a sweet dog and it is very kind of you to take her into your home! With some consistency and training hopefully she will settle down and listen to you better. Please keep us posted and best of luck!

Prim will be good for my exercise regimen. I take her and Oskar on walks. Another silver lining is my floors have never been so clean.

Happy Easter morning from the green hills of Kentucky. I hope your weather is as clear as ours, but if not, warmer days are coming.
I took the dogs for a moving tug of war this morning. The good news is Prim is mostly house trained, the unfortunate reality is she's not completely house trained. She also still nips.
But when she is calm she is sweet.

At last the spice rack was installed. I am so happy to get them all arranged and stashed away!

Plus sweetie and I re-installed the fence.

Plus we set up the picnic table and benches and the swing in the gazebo.
I'm ready to go to bed!

Yesterday and today I painted the road facing side of our fence. Because of the wind I had to paint it by hand and Because sweetie had a bad case of Montezuma 's revenge I did it alone.
Now I'm taking it easy before bed.

I have just realized that to comfortably loll on this swing I'll need to get larger cushions.

I finished digging out the grass for my new bed, in the lower left which will have pollinator flowers. It is made from cedar and construction angles with machine bolts. Next to it is my asparagus bed. Above, next to the composted are onions and next to them are peas and carrots. Excuse the weeds, I'll get around to trimming them soon.

Looking great. I am still waiting to have my garden tilled so I can get into it.

Today I'm sitting in our gazebo, the perfect place to sew binding on a quilt and watch Dark Shadows on Tubi.

It is! I'm thinking of sleeping outside one of these nights, but we have solar lights hooked up and they last quite a long time.

Vanessa---you are such a wonderful kind person. I wish the world was full of people like you. God bless your new doggie. I know how you feel painting by yourself---I have spent so many hours painting fences and buildings and decks---there is a peace in it though---time to think your own thoughts or listen to loud music.

Thank you, Barbara - I try to be kind because I know everyone is having problems nowadays.
Now I'd like to toot my horn...the Father's Day issue turned out nice and both pictures on the front page were mine.

The other was for Dairy Month. These children live in an apartment complex outside of Augusta. It is nicely cared for, but I suspect it is low income housing. Free lunches are delivered here every weekday, plus 3 other locations. The delivery lady suggested I go to another location that had more kids, but these children aren't seen - this may be the only time they are in the paper.

By the way, my boss wanted a 2 line headline, so I suggested "udderly." Sorry for the long explanation, but every week it seems like a miracle that we have news to print. During the pandemic, we were down to 8 pages, but now things are picking up. All I can say is support your local newspaper (or subscribe to mine!).

Good for you for being socially conscious. I'll bet these kids will keep the article for years.

A 9 year old in our church decided he wanted to be baptized the old fashioned way-in the river. Here he is with our pastor.

Here's all the family and friends who were there. Thank goodness it wasn't raining. We all returned to church and had a big 'ol lunch.

This picture's our puppy named Rose.
Although she is now in repose
She has several bad habits
Like lunging at rabbits.
She drags me through the weeds as she goes.

Oh my! When I got home today this what greeted my eyes! Who knew when we began to update the kitchen a year ago that it would look so nice.
