This has expanded from just Apple Festival to other seasons. A great use for fat quarters of fabric and rolls of toilet paper. Even a young child can do this.

No cutting, sewing, gluing, or painting. All you need is a red (apple), orange (pumpkin), or Christmas print (ornament) fat quarter (FQ) of fabric (it can be solid color or printed); a new roll of toilet paper; and a piece of a branch (a bit thicker for a pumpkin). You can add a felt face to the pumpkins and maybe a hat to an elf of Santa for Christmas - or wings to an angel? Hmmmmmmm - - -

1. Lay out FQ on flat surface
2. Place TP roll in middle of FQ (standing tube up)
3. Bring up all sides and corners of the FQ and poke into the tube
4. Stick the stick into the tube

Voila!

Here's a picture of the apple version (the fabric IS red, just doesn't look like it in the picture). LOL!

Linda, LoL, you already know where I'm going today! After other sisters see this there won't be any toilet paper for miles around!

Great idea and I like that it isn't "permanent" . . . so you can change things out!

Darling!! I made a couple last week for the first time but had used a brown paper bag cut and rolled up for the stem and had hot glued a couple artificial fall leaves to the stem - turned out cute!! But I like the wooden twig for the stem much better, Linda, gives it a much more rustic feel - I'll have to take a nature walk and go collect a few! I giggled at Darlenes comment about once every sister sees this, there won't be any toilet paper around... my funny today... my hubby was looking for a roll early today because I had already used the supply in the downstairs bathroom!! LOL!!!

I'm glad a lot of you are liking this craft. I plan to add a leaf or two to the pumpkins I make. LOL! And I, too, like that it isn't permanent. You can re-use the FQs and the TP for other projects after the holidays.

Well, I made 8 while watching the forum with Trump and Hillary. I use cinnamon sticks for the stem. I dipped the bottom of the stem into apple cinnamon oil and it smells so good. Raffia, ribbon, leaves and fall flowers. So easy and so pretty. Adding a tag with a Bible verse. Thanks for sharing this. These are much easier than the others that I make!

I just had a thought that these apples would look cute in checks or prints too. A big basket of fun fabrics would make some darling apples for the season!

Yes, Winnie. A bowl of mixed print apples. The pumpkin I saw that started this for me was a print and looked great.

Grace, I have made and given so many and everyone loves them. They are amazed it's made with toilet paper. LOL! I'm about to make some with Christmas fabric.

I'm so glad everyone is having fun with these - ornaments for Christmas, pumpkins for fall, apples for apple season - the ideas are endless.

I added to the first post with some more ideas. Check it out!

Sylvia this is a great craft and costs little to boot. Good new ideas Linda. How about 2 white on top of each other then decorate as a snowman!

Great way to hide the TP stash. And only YOU know where to find it when a need arises. LOL!
