Signups end tomorrow.

Before the list goes out, I want to reiterate one of the important rules for this swap. Please, please, please - CUT OFF BOTH SELVAGE EDGES before cutting your 10" squares. The 10"squares sent out should not have any selvadge edge remaining. When quilters make a "Layer Cake" quilt, the entire 10" square is used. Both selvage edges are more than the 1/4" seams used in a quilt and are usually heavier and more dense than the main fabric, and we do not want the selvage printing or the holes in some selvage edges to show in our quilts.

Thank you.

Farmgirl hugs,
Farmgirl #1919

Daizy, cut your fabrics first. Cut off salvage edges, then cut into ten inch squares. Choose your envelopes and address them. Some ladies are using Brown craft envelopes because they are sturdy and do not get torn up if they go through the sorting machine. You may also use a #10 Business envelope...folding a piece of paper around your fabric gives stability. (You will see that many kinds of envelopes are used. When you receive your fabrics examine them and it will help you know what you want to use in the future.)
Next, heat your steam iron and press your fabrics, folding them to fit the envelope you have chosen to use. After they are folded, press again as flat as possible. Allow a few minutes to cool, then put fabrics in envelopes, a stamp and a return address are very important. Then you are ready to mail them. One stamp should be sufficient.
I hope this is clear...and makes sense.

Hay there,

Yes, thanks, Mz Marilyn. The #10 white envelopes was what I was going to use but I think I will use the more sturdy one. Thanks for the advice.

Darlene R., I received your Fall fabrics and sweet little tuck today! Thank you!
We are having a hot, rainy day here in north Iowa! Flash flood warnings all over our county. And, it just feels like Fall. Grand daughter and I bought Indian corn and gourds today for decorating.
