I am hopeless. I love pumpkins, can hardly wait for fall to make pumpkin pies, bread, muffins, drink pumpkin spice coffee. So, while mulling over all this, I had to have a pumpkin coffee mug. Had to.... and guess what I found at Sur la Table, their latest mug. Ten bucks. I'm worth that.. shipping was free. So while I swelter tomorrow in 90º heat, I'll be happy thinking of all the wonderfulness of the coming fall. I love it. Yup, I could make pumpkin stuff right now, but are you kidding? It's going to be 90º + tomorrow. No oven is being lit up until the outside temperature drops quite a bit. We're due for some showers and back to our usual 70º. Dying for that to happen. Meanwhile the garden just doesn't know what's going on. I do have one large pumpkin turning orange. Yummy, yummy!

I'm with you on Fall. Definitely need cooler temps and the ac to not be running when baking time comes around. Just wish it was a longer season the way summer and winter seem to be. Technically they are all 3 months long but for some reason summer temps start in spring and end in fall. And winter temps start in fall and end during spring's time frame. So here we don't end up with much spring or fall. I didn't plant pumpkins this year and my garden is still going strong. Can't wait for sweatshirt weather. I love it! Planning to do lots of baking and take advantage of my big freezer for some of it.

Sylvia, I'm still smiling over your comment of "Ten bucks. I'm worth that".
Fall and pumpkins do go hand in hand. Fall's not officially here for me until there's a pumpkin or two or three on my front porch.

Sylvia, add me to the list of those who adore PUMPKINS!! Yay!! Down her in in hot Florida, we don't grow pumpkins commercially as the summer months are way to hot/humid for this type of vegetable. Watermelons and cantaloupe are pretty much done around here by June due to the heat! LOL! Recently, I used up my last bit of frozen fresh pumpkin meat from last year to make a loaf of Pumpkin Bread and it was divine!!
I can't wait for cooler drier weather and hope we don't have to wait until Thanksgiving to get some!
In the meantime, I am enjoying my favorite Pumpkin Spice Coffee that just came out at The Fresh Market. I love this stuff and look forward to enjoying it every year.

Pumpkin Spice coffee is exactly what will be filling my pumpkin cup. I love the stuff, wish it wasn't seasonal. Looking forward to a fresh cup. I like San Francisco Bay's version. The company grows and packages coffee with the earth in mind. Good people.

I love pumpkins too and can not wait for them to dress up my front deck. I also make a wonderful pumpkin bread my family loves. Fall is in the air here, it was 36 degrees last night and we have snow on Pikes Peak. I truly do love fall, pumpkins, fall smells and the leaves turning on our Aspen Trees, but honestly I am not ready for summer to end yet here.

Sylvia -- I moved here to SE PA from Renton 6 years ago. I just love the fact that we have 4 distinct seasons here. And this year I was able to grow PUMPKINS in my garden!!! I planted a packet of "Boo" mix -- we got 3 orange beauties and 3 spooky white ones. I made my Ovaltine in my pumpkin orange mug last night -- I think we are all looking forward to autumn.

Fall is my favorite season. Pumpkins, apple cider, football games, bonfires, colored leaves, gourds, Indian corn, everything pumpkin, warm clothing, decorating and Thanksgiving to count my Blessings!

I am a Fall lover myself. Sylvia I love your mug. Winnie your coffee looks yummy, the only thing to change for me would be dark roast. Oh I can't wait for fall decorating and cool nights.

With September only two days away I am starting to feel the itch of fall. It's crazy that we are still so warm here. I am ready for some cool fall weather and the delicious pumpkin spice everything that everyone keeps talking about. Maybe if I get fall decorations out and start making pumpkin food the weather will follow me! On the bright side it's looking like we will cool down this weekend. There is just something about wearing a long sleeve shirt that I just love.

Krista, I think your idea of bringing out the fall and tempting the weather to follow is a solid plan! People like me who live in the deep south have to pretend fall is here because we can remain hot all the way to Christmas! Hehehe, I have already starting putting out a little Fall this or that. It is just plain fun. And why not?

Yesterday at Hobby Lobby my sister bought a kitchen mat with pumpkins, rooster, and old red pick-up truck on it. Beautiful. I thought about it but I knew Annie would make short work of it so I passed. May go back and get it to put up for next year.
At Dollar General I bought a kitchen towel with the same pattern as on kitchen mat. There may be other items out there with the same pattern - I'll be looking.
The days here are still hot but mornings are cooler which makes it bearable. Ever now & then I get a whiff of fall in a breeze.

Sara, they have material with the red truck also. Tempting! While I was outside last evening sitting on the edge of my red claw foot tub with feet in the water dreaming of fall, I heard the phone ringing. I went in and it was my neighbor telling my husband that a bear was in our 1 driveway standing straight up pulling branches down. So much for dreaming of fall. Stayed in the house! LOL!

Came on to post something and the bear made me forget! LOL! Fall makes me want to cook and bake so yesterday I baked a pumpkin cake. Come on over and help me eat it before the hubby eats it all. Every one needs a little sister time!

We are feeling fall these last two days here in western WA. It's raining. It's been awhile. Deep green will result and our veggies will soak it all up. I love the smell during and after a good rain. Meanwhile, I found another evil thing we can prepare for fall. The recipe is called Whipped Cinnamon Pumpkin Butter: 2 sticks (8 oz.) butter, at room temperature 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg pinch salt 1/4 cup+2 Tablespoons pumpkin puree (if home made, makes sure it's drained well) 1/4 cup honey 1 teaspoon vanilla Beat butter until fluffy. Add the cinnamon and 1 Tablespoon of pumpkin puree. Beat until well combined. Continue beating and add the pumpkin puree, honey and vanilla. Beat until thick and fluffy. Store in the refrigerator and use at room temperature. You'll find yourself putting it on pancakes, biscuits, waffles, toast and God only knows what else. It's insanely good. Alter the spices as you wish. I love allspice, so added that. Sorry to ruin any diets but we've waited all summer to indulge, haven't we?

We had some rain and cooler weather yesterday and I was getting excited, but now we are warm again today. Yesterday was just a tease.
