In the kitchen...what are some of your simple dinners you like to prepare? I need to get back to basics but I, for some reason, am drawing a blank. Recipes, books, ideas, etc would be appreciated. I am trying to keep it to real ingredients, like my nana used to cook on the farm. :)

Here is what I have so far:
1. Rice and beans, with a side of grilled vegetables.
2. Biscuits with homemade sloppy joe mix on top
3. Taco bowls- everything that goes into a taco, chopped up, into a bowl.
4. Broccoli casserole with rice, cheese, broccoli, one egg, seasonings, all cooked up together.
5. Cornbread with beef and beans...beef and beans made in the slow cooker.
6. Grilled mixed vegetables...add in protein like chicken, shrimp or beef. Serve with egg noodles

Go!!!

Heather, some of my simplest meals include:
Black Bean Soup
Squash Soup
Chicken (rice, noodle, barley, gnochi) vegetable soup (we really like soup)
Chicken, baked potato, salad
Lamb Chops, rice, greek salad
Sweet and Sour meatballs with rice
Spaghetti with meat sauce
Sauteed shrimp on caesar salad
Shepherd's Pie
Tuna and noodle casserole
Burgers and oven fries
Homemade pizza

Hope that helps - I'm getting hungry now. I'd better go make dinner - shrimp with caesar salad.
