Hi,
Oh my goodness I have a book list a page and a half long. I love reading and am very very thankful for our library. My dh laughs and says I belong to the 'the ton of the month club". He helps carry a ton of books each month from the library for me. At present reading Dead Man Running by Rett MacPherson. It is a mystery and good reading. I finished reading lots of Janet Evanovich's thanks to my niece. Looking forward to checking out this list of books. Thanks ladies. Later, Carol Sue

Life is short, enjoy every moment.

Well, it's not January anymore but that would have been a great time to read what I'm reading, "Astrid & Veronica." A book about an unexpected friendship between two women. Tragic and beautiful at the same time. With the tragedy, hope is also present. I highly recommend it.

Lucinda

When we were young, there were moments of such perfectly crystallized happiness that we stood stock still and silently promised ourselves that we would remember them always. And we did. --Holly J. Burkhalter , "Four Midwestern Sisters' Christmas Book"

Lucinda, I will get your book at the library too. Do you think it will be there? Is it a new book or older?

Nancy Jo.....One of my girlfriends called me the other day raving about Emilie Richards! She said I HAD to read Endless Chain and Wedding Ring. She was just goofy about them. Let us know what you think. I have them on hold at the library. Cindy

I just finished "The Only Best Place" by Carolyne Aarsen, about a woman who "gives up" her life and career in Seattle to return with her husband and children to his family farm. Deals with family struggles, relationships, trust and faith. Very enjoyable, easy summer read. (I finished it in a day, but who needs sleep?)

That made me think of one of my old favorites .."The Dollmaker" by Harriette Arnow. If you havn't read it...I sure recomend it..it is about a woman in backwoods Kentucky during the second world war and her struggles as she and her family move to Detroit to be with her husband as he works in a steel mill...very gritty and just a good book with great characters and all. I have read it lots of times. Very "Grapes of Wrathish". Wrathish. Now there is a word for you

Oh I love the book more...of course...I always do..but in this case the ending is different!!!
There is so so much detail in the book and it just sucks you in. The movie was good too. I bought it on Amazon.com a long time ago used. It has Jane Fonda in the lead part and she did a great job..not who I would have expected in the part but perfect.
Nancy..you would love the book too!

Ann Rule, I haven't read anything by her in a long time. I almost forgot about her! What is the name of her new book Sherri? Did you ever read Small Sacrifices? Long time ago but really good!
