My daughter Nan who directs the morning show at a local TV station part-time just picked up full time employment as an interpreter at Heritage Hill State Historic Park in Green Bay WI! We use to take the kids there every summer as well as Christmas time to walk the park and participate in holiday festivities and military re-enactments.

She will be in costume as a prairie school marm with her own school-She is very excited to 'act' as she has a long and exceptional background in theater arts and will be able to bike from her apartment to the village for work.

She let me know that they have a huge costume department and she has been fitted for her summer constumes but employees are encouraged to take patterns home that are specific to the costume she is required to wear as well. She will be historically correct regarding her school marm clothes including a Chemise-Petticoats-floor length skirt, etc. Guess who will be her seamstress for this adventure? Can't wait to try my hand at dress making once again. It's been years and years since I cut out a pattern, but I am looking forward to it!!

Sounds like a great job for her, and a new challenge for you. Good luck to you both. In college I had brought my Singer Featherweight sewing machine to the dorm with me and was the costume maker (yes, they were simple) for the floor. LOL!

That is fabulous! What a truly wonderful job and to be able to dress in period clothing an added bonus!
