If you get a chance, take a look in the sky just as it gets dark, around 8-9 p.m. Mars is supposed to be at it's brightest and doesn't need a telescope to view it. Try to get out there stargazers and take a look, maybe even a picture or two as well!

UPDATE
June 3 we will be able to see Saturn's rings. That is providing it isn't cloudy or rainy! Hope you stargazing farmgirls can get out and take a look tomorrow night!

Awww bummer....it's too cloudy here tonight. Hopefully Mars will be visible for a couple more days so I can see it another night when the sky is clear.

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

You should be able to see it through May 30. Last night it was at it's brightest. We found a free app on our cell phones that helped us track exactly where Mars was on the horizon. My husband set up our telescope on the back deck at 10:30 and I thought it looked brighter just looking up instead of through the telescope lens.

Keep looking up, Mars is out there!

I have "Sky View" on my phone and I love it. It also tracks space debris and gives you where and what it came from! It's so kool!

I first tarted with Night Sky, updated to 2 and just became tired of their continuous "add on packages" that popped up when I opened the app. I don't like advertising, so I don't mind paying to not be bombarded with adds! This was just wanting me to update ... enough is enough.

Hopefully you'll have clear skies before the end of the month Michele! I use "Sky View" app on my phone Carole. My husband discovered it last night and it was great helping track where the Moon, Mars, and Jupiter's exact locations on the horizon. It was cloudy when I first went outside and we have a lot of trees here, so I need all the help I can get.

I plan to take another look tonight at Mars. It is too small to take a picture of, but it is fun to gaze at it.

Now that our rain has passed maybe I will get a chance to see mars tonight. I hope it's still visible for me.

Thanks, Dawn. I love looking at the night sky; full moons, etc... We're supposed to get rain tonight. I'll be looking up if not.

Saturn's rings will be viewable June 3. Hopefully the night skies will be clear for all of us to see these planets!
