Hi, I'm KarenP, Live in Chippewa Falls.
Raise on a dairy farm for part of my childhood, then just out in the country for the rest of it.
Currently live in town but have 9 lots, so it's a little country in the town. Pretty good compromise for now.
Found "SHOULDER TO THE WHEEL" issue at the grocery store, WOW, was I hooked!
I'm just starting to get back to gardening, as my job allows.
But, I have a farmer that delivers fresh produce each week as things ripen. (Yes, I'm spoiled).
Just found the forum today and will be posting from time to time.
I need to simplify my lifestyle and will be offering items to barter or give away (this is hard for the packrat in me!)as I finally go thru things.

Hi Karen! So wonderful to have another Wisconsinite here! (Is that what we are called?) I'm in Beaver Dam, how far are you away from me?

Looking forward to getting to know you!

Molly,
I'm about 90 miles EAST of the TWIN CITIES.
Chippewa Falls is about 14000 in pop., but with Eau Claire (65000 pop +)only 12 miles way,
the area is really growing together, lots of developments in between.
My uncle sold our family farm about 3 years ago to a developer, all the fields are full of cookie cutter houses and I'm surprised the house and barn are still standing (at least right now).
Makes me a little sick when I drive by. I used to run and play and go get the cows, go for walks with my dad down that road, there used to be 3 farms on that road.
Chippewa Falls is a great town, it's my home town.
Sorry to carry on, but not alot of people understand how feel about the farms.

I just checked on Mapquest, and you are about 3-1/2 hours from me :) Well, you came to the right place when it comes to ladies who understand how you feel about farms , so you can "carry on" as much as you want here!!
