I wrote about my PC dying. Well, apparently that wasnt quite enough. My youngest was playing his new Nintendo Wii game - bowling--the wrist strap broke, the controller flew across the room and broke the screen on our brand new LCD 32 inch tv. Yep. I am not kidding. I phoned Nintendo, apparently there has been a lot of problems with this and maybe, just maybe they will take responsiblity and replace our TV. They certainly were not negative about it. And if they dont, I can file a claim with my homeowners. Geez. I want a do over please. Can we back up 4 days and start 2007 over. Again...in the grand scheme of things this is trivial. My family is all well at the present time. Happy, healthy...well healthy anyway...one of us is a little more upset over the mishap than the rest of us. Accidents happen. That's why they are called accidents. Hubby is on the road home today and he wasnt too happy about it but also knows he makes mistakes and has mishaps as well so...it will all come out in the wash. It could always be worse. And these things we are dealing with are just material possessions. They can be replaced.

Susan,

So sorry to hear about your tough day. Did you buy your TV with American Express? They have a guarantee that will cover stuff like that for the first 30 days.
I have heard about a lot of people having problems with the Wii for the same reason.
I wish I could roll back the clock for you. All I can do is offer love and support. We all have periods like this and it does suck.
Tomorrow is a new day. And Monday a new week. Hopefully you have nothing but wonderful things for the rest of 2007.

We bought it with a check actually. Thanks for your kindnesses. Tomorrow is a new day and will be better if for no other reason, God willing, my husband will be home. That always makes things better.

Oh no! You are right, when it rains it pours! Don't you just hate days like that? Tomorrow is a new one, thank goodness, and you get to start over.

That's a wild story, Susan! I'm just glad it didn't hit someone! I bet your son was devastated. Good luck on a resolution.

Our new technology is beating us up! While reading your story, even though I was sad and frustrated for you, I had to laugh. No one could make that kind of thing up! Truth is stranger than fiction, and I had a visual of the strap and the whole thing flying across the room and crashing into a new TV! There was an article in our paper about how that is happening frequently. Not the TV part, but the flying part.

We have really ragged on him - just to lighten him up. He's only ten and feels so so bad. And he was just playing normally...not acting crazy or wild. Insurance agent said "Sorry, but that's not covered." I didnt figure it was. Hubby is home and of course wasnt mad at the little man. Just aggravated at the whole situation...computer...tv. So we wil go buy a computer and see what Nintendo says about our tv. The rep I spoke with said not to have it repaired till we heard from them. Its not like we dont have other tvs! Will keep you posted.

Much to Z's dismay we didn't attempt to buy that game because our local paper was reporting "gaming disasters"! One family lost their picture window and another reported the dog needing medical attention after getting hit! Those days always seem to come when we least expect them.Did you buy an extended service contract w/tv retailer? That might cover you too! Hope Jerry got home in one piece and that today is better!
