Both your books sound good
Love to read. Has anyone read the woman by Kristin Hannah? Great author. Also read all my secrets by Lynn Austin and the divine proverb of struesel by Sara Bruns Wald, and a book by a friend Elizabeth Wehman when the world shouts loud. Love recommendations from other readers.

Faith & a Simple Life by Julie A. Murphree. Love the way Julie writes, like sitting across from a friend talking and I met her on this forum! Simplicity in my life is what I crave and this adds faith with it but not preachy.

I finished the book last night, Wanda Sue. I don’t know how I feel about it…not sure why. I usually read books that have the fairy tale ending and aren’t as heavy topic wise. But I would have liked to see the end a bit different or to have an epilogue. :)

Rae, I will have to check out that book! :)

Here is a Book that Jean Pici is just finished reading and wanted me to share it with you:

Just finishing up a really good read, "Briar Club" by Kate Quinn - set in McCarthy era Washington D.C. the bonds formed by a diverse group of ladies in a dilapidated boarding house. Farmgirls, it has EVERYTHING - mystery, political intrigue, romance, action, murder, bigotry, the heartbreak of lost love, enduring loyalty, lies, incredibly strong women and some great recipes. LOL. Give it a try. I think you'll love it!

Thank you Jean I might need to read this one.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

I just finished reading "The Lion Women of Tehran" written by Marjan Kamali. It begins in 1953 in Tehran and ends in 2022 in NYC. My husband is originally from Tehran and the book was very interesting. It was sad to see how in that time period how the rights for women have been stripped away. The story is about 2 little girls and their friendship that sees them through the years. I hope you can find it at your libraries.

Just a couple days ago I finished a new book.

I enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. It does talk about some topics that could be triggering, but definitely things that we need to address in the real world. This book is about a young girl who goes missing from an orphanage. A private investigator is hired to find this little girl and the private investigator will stop at nothing to find her.

I finished another amazing book by Ellen Marie Wiseman!

This one was such an emotional story. Many aspects of this book are based on real history. The insane asylum is a real place that still stands today and the story is based on steamer trunks that were left behind at this insane asylum. It is truly unimaginable the pain so many people had to experience because they didn't conform to societies expectations. Especially women. I highly recommend this book.

I checked another book off my TBR list!

This book didn't make it to the top of my list, because the first 3/4 of the book moved slowly. The last part of the book was great and kept you on the edge of your seat. Trying to keep up with all the crazy turns was great! I enjoy more faced paced books but overall I felt like it was still a good read and would recommend it.

I just finished reading Project Hail Mary, by Andy Weir about a month ago and am now reading another book by him called Artemis. They are fiction and I am paraphrasing; a mixture of science, suspense, and humor. If you like some science fiction that is not real complex they are both good books.

I am reading Rick Steves "On the Hippie Trail". It's about his trip as a 23 year old traveling from Istanbul to Kathmandu in 1978. It is really interesting and humorous . A great and informative enjoyable read.

That sounds like a really interesting book April. Thanks for recommending it. I am currently reading "Close to Home" by Thor Hanson. He is a biologist and this nonfiction book is about discovering nature just outside our door. I've enjoyed his book so much that I plan on reading the other 5 he has written.

Yes Sheila, it's a new book by Rick Steves. I really enjoyed reading it and my husband did listening to the audio version, narrated by Rick himself. Hope your library has it.

I finished this book yesterday. It was a little bit slow getting started, but in the end the story was good. I learned a few more things about the Titanic and it was interesting reading about real people who were on board the ship. It even sparked my curiosity to do some extra research into the Fortune sisters. I can only imagine the impact the Titanic had on the survivors.

Marlene, me too. My oldest is very interested in the Titanic and has been for years. His curiosity has spread to the rest of us and we love watching documentaries on the Titanic.

Great book suggestions everyone. I am currently reading Molly MacRae's Highland Bookshop Mystery series. She is an author from IL and has also just released a new series called The Haunted Shell Bookshop. I also am reading the books written by biologist Thor Hanson. They are very interesting and informative in a way for everyone to understand how our worlds climate is changing.

Keep reading & sharing!
