I've been a beginning knitter for years and year -- mostly dishcloths, etc. However, I'm wanting to do more things now. The options for yarn are endless! Could someone please explain the differences? Like -- what is roving and what would you use it for? Does it have a different purpose than regular yarn? Thanks!
Roving is the carded fleece that is waiting to be spun into yarn...not quite yarn yet. It's also great for needle-felting projects and Kool-Aid dying!
As for the types of yarn? Oh my, there are gazillions. What we need is a good Google search with a page containing all of the possibilities...I would search it out myself right now but the child needs me! I'll check back later...
