I wanna glamp too, but I REALLY wanna do it with my daughter! And, I have a tire off right now . . . had a used one mounted on the rim but turns out it's not so good. So, gonna have to get a better one mounted. . . UGH! Tires! I don't care what they're on taking care of tires is so "tiring" and frustrating . . . and expensive! CJ

I too can't wait, in another month. Working on refinishing the interior. The shellac is dried up. I am using denatured alcohol, then will have to stain and reseal with spar. |

Not sure what the weather is like in your area, but July might be perfect warm weather for glamping! In the meantime, glampling close to home is purrrfect! You can always go inside your house on a cold evening! lol Presently snowing here! Not sure what happened to our gorgeous spring weather! Cheers!

Carole, Too cold to go camping right now. It's been getting below freezing at night at my house and we still get snow flurries. Usually, one can get out around Memorial Day weekend. We have reservations for a week in the middle of June. It's at a campground where we took our trailer last year later in June and it was great. I'm hoping that, with our snowier winter, the snow is melted off by then . It's at a pretty high elevation. And I'm hoping that we don't have a ban on campfires! We didn't last year and it was so nice to have a morning and evening fire . . . almost necessary. But for several previous years because of our severe drought conditions there was a ban on campfires which takes a bit of the fun out of camping! CJ

Ceejay, couldn't agree with you more about campfires--we had a fire ban half the summer and it's just not the same--so in case it happens again (hope not) we bought a propane fire pit which is ok to use. In some places you need a cover (ours does) The weather has been so warm here that my husband and I have gone camping at least 4 times this year. Only probably is most campgrounds (national forest) don't open until Memorial Day! Luckily the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation areas are open year round. The lake has a draw down in the spring so it's a looong water but we don't really fish the lake and with the boat launches out of commission because of the draw down we mostly have the place to ourselves! |

Bonnie, that would be fun! I think ourpaths crossed a few years ago. My friend and I went to the Minnesota Quilters meetings--though I am more of a quilt lover, fabric lover than an actual quilter: ) |

Ceejay, the show that you have been having, I do hope there will not be a ban. Our winter in the way Northeast I can see Canada from my house was strange. Very little snow, and mostly rain and brrr cold. We haven't had much snow in the past couple of years. The storms just seem to miss us. Last weekend, the golf course was open! Unusual for this time of year.
Have jun in June glampling! With new shoes, it will be sytlin' and rockin'!

"Reiver's Rest" is too small for those kind of lights. However, I wish I could find something just right . . . small, vintage, chang . . . to replace the ugly 70's style fluorescent lights. They are sooooo ugly and do NOT provide good light! I've been looking but so far nothing that will work. Need to be small and mount to the ceiling. CJ

Grace, they are beautiful, I would be worried about it breaking. I have been busy refinishing the entire inside of my Lil Peanuthe, stain and two coats of spar urethane. A bit of a speed bump with the cabinet doors. I had to use chemical stripper as the spar reacted to them a causing a white film. They have been stripped, stained, and one coat of spar. 2nd coat tomorrow. Now to put everything back! |

CeeJay... I have faith in you... you will find the perfect light fixture for R.R...
Julie,,, lol! I remember being a tad impatient, and putting a 2nd coat of paint over a 1st coat that was still tacky,,, yep, I got the 'crackle' effect,,, and no it was not what I wanted!,,, sand sand sand and repaint! uugh!
oh and I always take my hanging light, and everything else down when I am traveling so nothing falls or breaks from the motion when driving... even my fixed light over the dinette,, I take the globe off... I would rather have to re-attach the globe then have to clean up broken glass... lol!

Grace, so you must have it plugged in....I was thinking hardwired (slapping forehead), cool! It takes me well over an hour to "glamp up" the camper when I arrive. I use vintage suitcases and picnic baskets to store everything while traveling. The light must look beautiful through the window at night. |

Gonna take a trip up in the mountains on Sunday, Mothers Day. Plan to stop by the campground where we have reservations for the middle of June to see how it looks for snow melt off. Elevation is approximately 9000 ft. and I'm hoping that it's all melted away and dried up before time for us to be there. It's about a 40 mile drive but it'll be nice to be in the mountains! CJ

Yesterday I walked into the campground where my daughter and I have reservations to go glamping in mid-June to check out the snow situation. There is still quite a bit of snow to melt off, but our campsite is clear! You can't drive in there yet because of snow on the road, but I'm hopeful! We'll probably go back around Memorial Day weekend to see how things look! CJ

Some of our campgrounds here are so dry there is fire danger. We have had several forest fires up north. We're also getting the smoke from the Canadian fires. But we had rain this afternoon and it is supposed to be a wet week.
