Okay, here's my countdown list (and yes, I'm a procrastinator)...

-finish apron for sister... it WAS a cafe curtain, which I have Rit-dyed blue... now I need to add sashes on it. Ta-da! An apron. Just the right length too. And I got the pair for about 50 cents at the thrift store months ago.

-make a million sets of appliqued dishtowels. No, really. Maybe not a million, but how about five sets? I've found several easy appliques online, and after I dye the dishtowels tonight (Rit, again), I'm going to cheat and fuse the appliques. Hopefully, pretty easy. We'll see.

- finish the potato chip scarf (from Knitpicks!) for my sister. Only two rows left, but there's a million stitches on the needles for each row.

Tomorrow I'm reserving specifically for sweetie making. I'm making seaglass candy, praline grahams, fudge, Russian tea, and chess bars. That should do it.

How's your list doing?

Got the house cleaned yesterday...hope it lasts! Have two gifts to wrap and then that's done. Have one handtowel to stitch the ribbon on. Oh, and one tshirt to fuse a fish applique on to (gag gift for daughter to boyfriend).

Baking with youngest daughter today as we've had no together time this season. Just waiting for her to get here. We'll do butter tarts and shortbread and a few mincemeat tarts. I love the way it makes my house smell.

Doing my produce shopping tomorrow. That should be fun...I must be nuts!

Seaglass candy sounds intriguing Kim...

Oh my gosh I wish I were as close to ready as you gals!! I am so bad a procrastinator and have company coming and 84,000 things still to do. It will work out..it always does...that is my mantra right now..as I clean and work. I am taking a quick break with a slice of amish friendship bread brought over (warm) by a friend just now..with the girls and then back to the cleaning. My kitchen looks like a Christmas explosion..the rest is better..but none are complete..and don't even get me started on wrapping..haha

I have to sew the girl's dresses which include a grand total of 8 appliques between the two, plus fitting them to the girls (I am a bit of a perfectionist with regard to fitting their clothes.) I also have to sew up an apron that I have had cut for about a week now. We have to deliver our neighbor cookies, but we are doing that as soon as Rob gets home. Then I have to pack tonight and gather all of the travelling presents, so the dishes so there are none when we get home, then go to bed....that is if I get done before tomorrow morning. HA!

I just finished baking another batch of party mix and muddy buddies...found out I needed four more "little gifts". My 20 year old daughter promised everyone at work cookies. She mixed up 12 dozen cookies, but guess who just finished baking all 12 dozen because she had to go finish wrapping presents at her sister's house !!! I'm almost done, except for cooking the days of Christmas Eve and Christmas.

Everyone sounds like elves, hustling and bustling,...maybe over-achieving elves (lol). But all each of us do, we do because of love!
Merry Christmas!

I have four gifts to wrap and a bit of baking to do...hubby woke up sick this morning, so I guess I will add him to the list. Poor guy, he gets 3 days off and is ill. Celebrating MIL's birthday Christmas Eve and then I am planning a big brunch for Christmas day. I find myself remarkably unhurried this year. Pretty good, considering I started and finished my shopping two days ago!

I have finished cleaning the house, grocery shopping, gift shopping, wrapped gifts and all decorated. What's left - laundry today, DH to go and get the rented table (our table not big enough for 8+ people), tomorrow bake the dessert for Christmas dinner and make Julia's (farm girl) cranberry chutney and get all those Cornish hens out of the freezer to defrost. Go to my parent's house for Christmas Eve and gifts and then DH's family comes over Christmas Day for dinner. Whew.

Shopping is FINISHED...it actually wasn't too crowded today, and going with DH always makes it better.
Now I need to finish sewing the binding on Grandma's wall hanging.
Everything my mom tells me to bring over tomorrow, she picks up at the store or bakes first, so I guess I'm good there!
Merry Christmas!

I went shopping today too. Thought I was done but came up with some last minute ideas. Was bracing myself for the worst and it was a wonderful shopping day! Everyone must have headed out of town on Friday because the stores were not crowded at all. I got the coolest present for Missy and I'm dying to tell someone but she'll read the board so I have to keep mum. It's killing me though. Still have to wrap presents -- we don't have a single one under the tree yet! Now I'm in the middle of making a total mess of the kitchen finishing food for tomorrow and Christmas Eve. Just finished a seven layer salad. First time I've ever made it but have been so hungry for it. That was a potluck staple when I was growing up in IL. Hope it tastes as good as I remember.

Merry Christmas to all my Farmgirl sisters!!!

Thought I was done shopping yesterday but found out one gift was TOTALLY inappropriate at the last minute (thank goodness I found out in advance!) so still have to go get one today. Still wrapping yesterday's shopping, have 3 more to wrap.

Tomorrow it's just my husband and his brother, I'm making cornish hens (easy) but they are demanding apple pie and pumpkin pie so I'll be baking those in the morning.

Have already baked all the cookies I am planning on baking. On Boxing Day I am hosting a family get-together for my side of the family, so am waiting unti the morning to go shopping for sandwich stuff and veggie trays. If I have time, I might make some peanut brittle as I bought the peanuts but haven't gotten around to making it yet.

I never put up a tree this year, but did go make a few fresh pine branch and holly arrangements and hung ornaments on them. I'm thinking of making a couple more for other rooms of the house.

I just finished my baking for a few neighbors. Last night the 3 of us went to a great celebration w/ a horse drawn sleigh, hot cocoa, the greatest cupcakes I've ever had & tons of Christmas lights. Tonight we go riding around looking at lights. So..... I have to finish wrapping, baking a little & make a nice pot roast for dinner for us tonight. When we return my husband will read the Christmas Story from the Bible then we'll go to bed. Love Christmas Eve.
