Anyone know where I can get 100% cotton curtains preferably all different lenghts from valances to long drape type. I am having a hard time finding 100% and just thinking I could make my own but with time and trouble, might be cheaper to buy. Thanks.

Try Country Curtains. I have gotten many pairs from them, and the designs range from cottge to sleek. Very nice. They have a website, too. www.countrycurtains.com

If you can't find the 100% cotton material you want, try using king/queen/twin 100% cotton bedsheets - you can find some cheap ones in some of the catalogs (less than $10 for twin size). Depending on the pattern (if you don't use one color) you may be able to use them without any sewing at all. Hang by the hem or top (wider hem) - you may have to open a seam.

Great Idea!! I have many different size windows and since it is an apartment, we will probably move at some point. Thanks for the idea...

My stepmom made the cutest curtains for my apt bedroom out of sheets. Barn red gingham with a larger gingham print valance. They worked really well to keep the light out also.

Hi all, forgot to mention - before you do any sewing with the 100% cotton sheets, wash them first - just as for cloth - in case they're going to shrink - because if you sew the hems, etc. before washing you may have a problem. You may have to iron them afterwards, but better safe than sorry.
