I'm gonna have to find me a better pencil sharpener! Electric one chews up pencils, hand-held one doesn't give a good point!

Thank you everyone, it is a real neat coloring book. I ordered it on Amazon well before Christmas, who knows when it will be finished! I knit as well so I am torn between the two projects:-)
Back to my studio, I am making Valentine ATC's for gifts, so much fun. Should be working on my Mug Rug for the swap, oh so many fun things to do and so little time.
Till next time have an awesome rest of your day my Sisters!

Thanks for the reminder CJ I need a pencil sharpener as I can not find mine.
I love to color Darlene, I never colored as a child so once I had my Son Kent I did with him all the things i never got to do as a child. Kent and I had so much fun when he was growing up we did so many fabulous kid things! To this day at 40 he will still for with his mom!

Oops, I forgot,,, have any of you tried the Gel Pens? I got a set from Amazon and they are so neat. They come in fluorescent, regular and sparkles all in one pack. I love them!
Just thought I would let you know about them in case anyone had not heard of them. I had not until my girlfriend/neighbor down the road showed me hers.
CJ, we are getting our snow now, a hard, wet snow!

I used Gel Pens Debbie and I love them . Also if their gel pens and neon colors. It makes the picture really stand out. I use markers, highlighters, color pencils. Lots of things....

It is so much fun, I have used colored pencils, pens and some sparkle gel pens.
Hope you like it! I have a little more to do on it.

Girls,
I ordered the Prismacolor pencil sharpener. It's supposed to have two options for sharpening. I'll let you know how it is when I get it. Hopefully it's just the ticket!

I keep a small bit of very fine sandpaper handy to keep the points on my pencils to my liking. Back in the days when we were still hand drafting planting and irrigation plans in our office we used sandpaper blocks to keep the leads on our drawing pencils and compasses sharp. I had one sitting in my desk and tried it with my colored pencils once and it works great.

Berol prismacolor pencils seem to be the hardest of all colored pencils to sharpen. I think maybe that is because they have large diameter soft leads. They sure are the nicest to color with though. We use Rexel-Cumberland Derwent Studio pencils at the office and they seem to hold a pencil sharpener point better but they have a firm lead so a little difficult to blend with. I prefer them for presentations because it's easier to achieve soft, subtle colors.

I've yet to find a pencil sharpener - manual, electric or battery - that offers a "perfect" point. The best ones are the old fashioned hand-crank style ones but you can't find good quality ones any more. I'm curious to hear how well the new Prismacolor one works for CJ!

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

I love Sparkle Gel Pens!!! They are my favorite...even over my Prism Colored Pencils...but you
have to like Bold Vibrant Colors in order to Love them. Barnes and Noble sells a nice set of 12 for
$9.95...they are called "Yummy Yummy Scented Gel Pens" they are a Glitter Gel Pen. I don't
care about the scent (in fact I don't
even notice a scent)but they are so pretty to work with.

CJ...can't wait to hear how your sharpener works. I got a little hand held one with one of my pkgs
of pencils and it works GREAT!

Marilyn...I like the sandpaper idea too. Will have to give that a try also.

Hugs & coloring fun,
Peggy

I like the sharpener as it tends to protect the points from breaking. One side sharpens, the other refines the end to even a sharper point.
It's my go to sharpener.

I'm going to have to check out the gel pens . . .doubt that I can find them around here. I plan a visit to my daughter's in Phoenix in March, might have to wait until then and the two of us go see what we can find!

CJ, they did not have the gel pens around here where I live so that is why I ordered from Amazon. Like you I do not get to the big city to often, but I did hear that hobby lobby carries them as well.

Peggy,
This swap will be featured in the February 1st SISTER ISSUE and, hopefully we'll get some new signups through that.
Perhaps if we don't get any more by the 3rd I'll close it earlier.
Thanks for your patience!
CJ

P.S. I've sent emails to a couple of gals to see if they're interested too.
