Quite a few years ago, Maryjane hosted an event over in Couere d'Alene, Idaho,,, most of the activity was held outside,,, but the food was pre-pared and served in the Barn,,, most everyone choose to sit outside as it was such a beautiful day (July),, but it was lovely to saunter into the barn, (shade) chat and enjoy the fabulous foods.... Gosh,,, I think that was back in 2009.??? I know I have some photos somewhere... I will have to hunt them down...

Here are some pictures of my old barn. It is leaning a little, and really needs new sliding doors on both sides. I was quoted $1500-2000 to level it and not sure if I will or not. It is sturdy as it is. The front of the barn that is seen from my farmhouse The left side inside: 3 stalls for cows and a loft above. All of the junk in the loft is gone.
The right side inside: 3 storage rooms.

One of my neighbor's granddaughters was thinking of using my barn as a backdrop for a wedding, but it hasn't happened yet.

I love the look of the sliders, too. But they definitely need replacements. The hardware for 3 of the 4 doors are there, but not for the 4th. They are covered in paint (probably protected them LOL!). I want to paint the barn, too, but I also like the old barnwood look.
We have to keep the 3 stall doors wired closed because they are too small for the horses and 2 of the horses on the property right now are pregnant. We don't want them to lay down and get stuck in there.

here are 2 more pictures of forgotten buildings...
this one is in Reardon, WA... out in wheat land...
this one is in Troy, ID... I am not sure if it was an old school or church... but it to has been left to fade away... oh if only I had a Gazillion dollars.. I would buy all the old barns, churches and schools,,, gather them up and place them on my property... and love them.

An abandoned house or barn is so sad looking. I feel for them.
The house I live in was built sometime in the 1800's. I often wonder who built it and what were they like. Did they have children? How many. What caused the fire we found evidence of when we redid the roof? How big was the farm then? How many families have lived here before us? A few of the questions have been answered, but most not. I love it here and want to stay for more years to come. The last 31 haven't been long enough.

Brenda... like "Ansestry/Geneology" I wish therewas such a source for old buildings... The only sources I know of are old county revords, newspaper articles and "old timers " who still remember the Who ' and When 's....
