My friend was at a quilting retreat, only a few miles from me. She had given me some some "left overs" of vodka to add to my next batch of vanilla.(because I always give her some of the vanilla.) But then she called and said she needed to be an
" Indian Giver"(childhood term, from long ago), and would I please become a "Bootlegged" for just a few minutes and bring her part of the vodka. So I did take her one of the bottles. They had been discussing Best Press at the retreat, googled to learn what was in it and had the distilled water...Now they needed the vodka. She gave me a bottle of their concoction later on. I have enjoyed it. I think our high jinks must have been a fun subject as they all returned to their homes and told their family and friends about the retreat. It was fun for me because they all showed me the beautiful things they were working on.

April, it is ok. Life happens and we all have interruptions now and then. I hope you are enjoying all of the different fabrics as much as I am.

I understand. My granddaughters are 15 & 18. One day recently my son said he did not know if he would survive these years. He said, "I have tried, we have tried so hard to teach them the right way, God's way, but the "world" is interfearing, big time." I was reminded of the pressure I felt while raising him, to teach him all I could in 17 years, the time God had allowed me, before he took that big step into his future. It is harder today than in the seventies. We only had a landline.

Wow, Becca Lou! Its wonderful to see a project almost completed! That is real purty!

Okaaaay, Marilyn...I am not a crier. However, my eyes were real teary today when I got the mail!
True to your word and heart...for a "non-quilter" you did a wonderful job sewing up these blocks...perfect! You and your friends did such a heartfelt job signing and giving words of encouragement! Please thank each of them for me. I will send thank you notes for you to give them too! This has turned into such a caring women's project! I can't thank you ladies enough.

Love your top, Rebecca!

And Judith, those blocks are great. That's going to be a great quilt. I'm sorry I haven't been able to send you any blocks.

Marti, a little slanted is beautiful. It keeps the whole concept real. I love it. So will the recipient! Mine have slanted at times. Oh, well. I love it!

April, I received your fabrics today! Still...no two alike! I love them both! I have used the pink fabric before in another project! Thank you!

DH and I will be heading to MI on Monday for a couple of weeks. I will try to keep in touch. We'll have our laptop and phones. I would probably go through withdrawal otherwise.

My husband got mad at me today because he said I spend too much time on my tablet. I asked him if he is wrong to read books, magazines and watch tv. Because my tablet time is reading, watching you tube videos,( trying to learn how to do new crafty things), visiting with farm girl friends, I can even read the Bible and other books I have downloaded.
He chose not to get on board 17 years ago when we got our first computer, and even though I have spent a lot of time trying to teach him...he can't remember. He even has a tablet! Men!!!! When he was in high school COOL guys did not learn to type...But we girls learned. I never would have made it through college without my old typewriter.

Don't give up things can change. I do learn alot off of you tube as well, neat art lessons too.

Your in my prayers.

Marilyn. My husband wouldn't use a computer for years either and was always on me for doing what you do. I got him a laptop and now he's on as much as I am if not more. There are cars, farming, sports/all manner of guy things to do. He can't type either but he manages. Hang in there!

Five years ago my son's family did not own a computer. They used ours or Julie's work computer. Then N9t son bought Kindles for the girls when they became colorful, not just readers. He loved them so much he bought himself one. Since then he bought Baylee a touch screen lap top, but she dropped the keyboard (detachable). Hadlee was given an iPad when she had her brain tumor. Last summer I gave Hadlee my lap top so she could do driver's ed, and Baylee bought herself a new laptop for college. Wade continues to read on his Kindle, a lot. I think that when we read or watch and learn and then share our knowledge it is awesome. I think my husband is afraid we will learn more than him. Sorry, we already have, but as I said, I have tried to include him. I show him funny videos, his old friends, and help him look up info. He was just having a super grouchy day.
