Hi! I’m new to chat room but I’m working on my what’s the beef badge. I have read the book, and web pages, met the farmer and even bought half a cow! I’m excited to have low Al beef from a pasture raised farm in my area. I don’t know if I will be able to buy beef or other meats the same way. We also have ordered meat birds this year to add to our growing homestead. Looking forward to keep learning.

Jennifer, that is so neat! We have been buying our beef from a local farmer for 12 years now. We would never go back to store bought meat again. I would like to eventually do meat chickens but I am not quite ready for that yet. Welcome to the Farm! Good luck with all of your badges.

This month I mailed 6 letters with a four leaf quilling design on the front. Now I am all done and ready to apply for my beginner quilling badge. Anyone else ready to apply for a badge?

Krista, I need to apply for the expert get it together in the farm kitchen section and the expert in the lost art of letter writing. If weather permits, this weekend I will finish my beginner badge in garden gate in the make it easy section.

I tried quilling the other day…without watching any videos or reading any instructions…I was not successful! :) lol

I am! I finished beginner and intermediate bread making, just gotta get all my info typed in! Quilling sounds so cool. I don't know if I would have the patience though!

Great work Karen! That is awesome. I wish our weather would get its act together so I can get outside and work on my outside badges. Hopefully your weather cooperates for you. Lol! I have had to have instructions with my quilling. The only thing I did on my own was pick my own colors ha ha.

Great work Hannah! The bread making badge would be a fun one to start. I will have to look into the requirements. Quilling is pretty fun, but it's a lot of finger work.

Great work everyone, you're inspiring me. I have several that I could write up, I'm sure. I started the origami one and found it more difficult than I remembered. The ones pasted in my origami book from childhood are better!!!

Jill, I 100% agree. I’ve been a paper crafter for 0ver 20 years…and I’m struggling with origami! :) lol

I agree with you all! I have completed my beginner and intermediate origami badge and both were more challenging than I expected. I remember doing some in elementary school and it didn't seem as difficult back then. Maybe the tiny kid fingers help lol!

I had a difficult time folding all of the small pieces for my chick that I made for the Expert badge. I have arthritis in my thumbs, and I chose to make the pieces from cardstock to make it stronger. Oh boy, what a challenge for me! But it turned out so cute that I think it was worth my struggle. Keep chugging ahead, Girls!

Thanks for all the nice comments, Girls! Making the chick took about 8 hours, but I am so happy with the way that it turned out...it was well worth the time and finger aches! Keep moving forward with your Origami!

Nancy, do did a wonderful job making that paper chick!! It is as cute as can be despite having some painful arthritis in your fingers too. Enjoy this little piece with your other Spring decorations.
