I just shut down my website and my etsy shop...<sigh> I know it needed to be done, life has just gotten too busy, and it does feel good to know that I don't have that pressure on my mind to be making and posting all the time, but still. Bittersweet, I guess. I know my farmgirls will understand. :)

So sorry to hear that you had to shut it down. But glad you don't have to feel too pressured by it all for awhile. Take care of yourself and life will get back on track. I will send up a prayer for you.

Sometimes we need to step back and regroup. I don't know that I could keep up with demand from an etsy shop. Take care of yourself and rest - you've done the best thing you could, even though you don't like to do it.

Sarah...It is hard when you know you should do something but then it is part of who you are and your passion...
but it has gotten in the way of Real Life. Boy do I understand that!! Just take a deep breath and know that
it is time to go onto the next leg of your Journey. A new Reality for sure but... Life is always more
exciting when we shake things up a little! So just find a little more "You" time and enjoy having less Stress in your life.

Farmgirl Hugs and Smiles,
Peggy

Bittersweet is the exact right word, and it can be very hard to focus on the sweet rather than the bitter. But congratulate yourself on a wise decision, and really doing some of the "self care" mentioned in previous posts.

You've given yourself the gift of time

Sarah,
I know exactly how you feel. Two years ago I had to back off, in a BIG way, from sewing aprons for my blogspot, Facebook page, Farmers Market and Craft shows/bazaars! Burned out! Overwhelming health challenges! It's difficult to refocus, rearrange priorities, etc.
Hang in there and enjoy the rest!

Sarah, I think there are things in our life that have a "season" sometimes. It is hard to realize that sometimes a good idea and passion is really not going to continue. I hope that in the weeks to come, you will be able to have some peace about your decision and see new opportunities to fill that space which will be just as exciting and fulfilling.

Sarah - I do understand how sad it is when you have to make a decision like that. Be proud of what you have accomplished, and remember that it's only a chapter that is coming to a close, not the whole storybook! :) Wonderful things are in store - take a deep, cleansing breath, get some rest, and then, when you're ready, rise to face the new day, and SHINE! Honestly, I believe this with all my heart: Wonderful things ARE in store! Revel in the excitement and anticipation of that which has yet to come! Big hugs to you, sister! Nini

Sarah, take a deep breath of fresh air and say thank you. Enjoy this very moment...smells, sights, sounds. I had to do what you did when I found out I had fibromyalgia. The occupational therapist asked me to write down what I did each day of the week. She reviewed it and said...now cut this in half. Gulp! But she was right. I had to for my health. It is soon hard to do. But you will adjust and life will be a lot less stressful. God bless.

Sara, I know how you feel. I've had to take a step back several times. Remember everything happens for a reason. The day will come when you will say now I get it. That was a good thing. And knowing your sisters are here to support you will help a lot. Hugs!!

Sarah, through the years I have had to let go of many good things. Sometimes I was overwhelmed; other times as Winnie said the season for it had passed. One thing I do know and believe is that when one door closes in due season another one will open.

Bittersweet for sure. I just shut down my little corner at the local antique and collectible shop. Ella Bella Vintage Collectibles---I miss it already but knew I had to do it and get on with other things.

Hello Sarah,
I am. Noreen in Vermont. I know I have said it before but we all really should make an effort to have a farm girl day in Vermont. I had a really tough summer with knee pain and I finally got a knee replacement on Sept. 30th. Hopefully, by this spring I will be really out and about again. It has been a frustrating year. I can't wait to be active again. Let us try a get together this spring, it will be something nice to look forward to. What do you think?

Thanks everyone for your sweet words of encouragement! It's been so helpful. I knew you guys would get it. I only wish I could rest and regroup, but that's part of the reason it had to go, was because there was no time to spare for my business. I 'm sure it is only for a season though. And of course, I will keep creating and sharing here what all I'm doing. Thanks you all for your devoted support!

Good morning sisters. You have no idea how good it feels to have you all! I'm an only child and had 3 cousins. Last night my cousin Mark passed away up in IL. He was the last family I had. I'm blessed with 3 beautiful daughters and a loving husband. Still it's a lonely feeling.

Sarah, we all need a little less stress... I know I do. Hang in there, rest and regroup. There might be a different way of selling that has less stress and work to it. You just never know, when one door shuts.... another one opens. Good Luck!

Sarah, you are certainly loved and supported here. Life has different 'chapters' and different 'seasons'. You'll make it through and start new chapters.

Sometimes, I think women deal with these changes more than men do. Our identities get wrapped up in our kids, the appearance of our homes, our reputation as wives, our reputation among our friends,etc... It can be difficult when we have to let one of those identities go.

For me, it was very difficult to adjust to life when, after homeschooling my children for 20 years, my youngest went to college. Who was I if I wasn't a homeschooling mom anymore? That was 2 years ago and it's just now that I'm finding a new groove.

Haven't been on in a few days. My cousin and last of my family (aunts, uncles and cousins) passed away leaving me as next of kin. He's in IL and I'm down here in FL. His passing was a shock and now I'm over welmed with making arrangements, phone calls, and legal paperwork long distance. My advice to you all is make a plan for your passing so your loved ones don't have to. I know I am. And not just a will. List accounts, legal papers, phone numbers and contacts etc. All I can say is that although I don't mind doing this for him, it's overwhelming!
