Late last week I had a mammogram done. Well, yesterday they called back and said that they saw something on both breast images that were suspicious. Now I need to go and have another procedure (not sure exactly) at a bigger facility that is about 45 minutes a way. My appointment with them is October 27th. I am feeling nervous but trying to stay calm. Any prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Julie - mst definitely praying! My older sister just went through that recently... The second procedure was a more high tech mammogram, then an ultrasound... Then a biopsy, which came back as benign. Praying the same for you!!!

My last 3 mammograms came back that way. Then they all ended up benign after biopsy. I pray that yours will be the same.

Prayers are with you. Remember there is the possibility of false positive results. "Suspicious" could just be extra dense tissue which isn't uncommon.
You need to know what is going on.
I've been where you are, 9 years ago. For me the next step was a needle biopsy. You need to know what is going on. I had myself convinced it was all a mistake, until the needle biopsy said there was real concern. For me it was real, whether I wanted to believe it or not. I found the doctors, nurses and technicians were kind, caring people and they helped me through my journey, which was a mastectomy and chemo. I am doing fine. If I had ignored the warning, I might not have had the 9 past wonderful years; marriage of my oldest daughter, birth of two amazing grandchildren, other two children engaged to wonderful people. | Julie, for me the waiting and not knowing is always the worst part. My imagination and naturally worrier streak is my own worst enemy. I went through this a couple of years ago and my bumps turned out to be fibroid and benign. My family has a lot of that. You are in my thoughts and I'm sending big hugs. |

Big prayers sweetie. I know how scary those doctors calls can be. I've been there, though mine was negative, thankfully. Keep us posted.

| Hello Julie. I will definitely be sending prayers and good vibes your way. At the first of this month my own mother had a breast cancer scare. This was tough on us since she had breast cancer back in 2011. She had her screening mammo that came back showing some calcifications that required her to have additional imaging. The next day she went in for a diagnostic mammo which confirmed the calcifications were really there and needed to be checked out. She then went in and had a stereotactic biopsy. Those results came back benign. It was such a relief. This scare can come back good. Keep your head high and think positive. Make sure to post updates. |
