I joined about a month ago, but hadn't gotten around to logging on. Then today, I received a sweet welcoming card from Winnie that brightened my day so I decided to change up my "To-Do" list and spend some time on the computer.

Well, where do I start? I lived on the coast of NC for 47 years (my entire life) then about a year ago, found myself single & independent (for the 1st time in my life). I loaded the U-Haul and moved all the way across the state to the Blue Ridge Mountains. And I absolutely LOVE the mountains! I have 1 son engaged to be married, 1 daughter who is a freshman in college (go ECU Pirates!), and 4 dogs (the dogs still live at home and I'm not sure exactly when they'll be moving out. LOL) I work full time in the insurance field in administration. The best part of my day & week is the time I get to spend at home.

I'm so excited to be a part of the sisterhood. I'm looking forward to making many new friends and hopefully learning a lot as well.

So, hey y'all from the NC mountains!
The leaves are gorgeous & the temperature is great!

Hi Annie,

That welcome card from Winnie is the sweetest thing isn't it? I just love her. She is great to read and leave comments on my blog and it always makes me smile! :-)

Welcome to the sisterhood! And how brave are you to load up, move, and start a new life in such an awesome way? I think we'll be learning a lot of great things from you too!

HI Deann!! I am so happy that you joined in here and introduced yourself. My daughter lives in Asheville, NC and the Blue Ridge Mountains are near and dear to my heart as well!! The seasons up there are all beautiful and there is just something inspiring about those shades of blue when you look out over the mountains. Love it!! Welcome, Deann! I am a "flatlander" transplanted to the mountains, only it was the Midwest version, from Wisconsin to Arkansas. Single and independent is quite a change after 47 years. You're a brave girl to pull up stakes! :)Here's to beautiful mountain days in Autumn!
