A 10-year-old boy in the close-by city of Wilmington was shot in the head, in his own house by an intruder yesterday. This poor little boy is fighting for his life in our children's hospital. Please pray for him and all the children in Wilmington, which is experiencing a terrible increase in gun violence.

Is the increase in violence connected to the nearby areas? Philly, DC, etc? DE was never "that" bad. The more I think about it, the more shocked I think I am!

It is always worse in some neighborhoods in the heat of summer, which we are experiencing now. Praying for this wee one.

Thank you for your prayers, everyone. He is apparently holding his own, but still in very serious condition. Our proximity to the inter-state highway makes our little state's biggest city right handy for drug dealers and other criminals from New York, Philadelphia and DC. Most of this violence is gang and drug related. I guess our prayers need to extend to everyone trying to live good lives in that kind of environment.

Praising God he is holding his own!!! Continuing to pray for him and his family! Will also be praying for those trying to live decent lives. But I think we also need to pray for those involved in the drugs, the gangs, and the shootings! It is easy for me to blame them and be upset/angry/frustrated with their choices, but they too are created in God's image and need prayer... and I really need to remember that!

Thanks to you all for your prayers. It now appears that the Guardian Angels group is offering to come to Wilmington. I hope they do, as their presence really has had an impact in other cities.
