Hallo everyone! I'm Wren. I love everything about farm life and I can't wait until my husband retires from the Navy in three and a half years so we can buy our land and build our home. We are from the northwestern corner of Montana and will be moving back.

We have two daughters, Paige (14) and Ridley (7). They are country girls trapped in the suburban Military housing we have called home for the last 16 years.

I just ordered my sisterhood kit today and i'm very excited. In fact, i just found the magazine, and forum this week. Being out here in Hawaii, our stores don't carry all the stuff the mainland stores do and our target just happened to have one copy of the newest edition.

I'm very pleased to be here and look forward to getting to know every one :)

warmest regards,

Wren

Morning Wren! Welcome from another Farmgirl stuck in a suburban area due to the military... But by the Air Force, down in South Carolina. Hubby can retire next November 1st and we are looking forward to buying a homestead in Wyoming. Aloha, Wren, and a big Welcome to "our Farm"!! I love that you just found us recently too. I am looking forward to your Farmgirl projects out in your beautiful location. The one cool thing about MJF, it that you don't have to live in any particular location. We are all doing our own thing and enjoying every moment. I think as long as you have a good apron to wear, pretty much everything else falls into place! LOL!!

Hello Wren and welcome! Oh you'll love buying your land and building your home. My husband and I dreamed of a farm of our own for a whole lot of years. We bought our farm 10 years ago, finally were able to build our home and move 4 years ago. We love it. I'm trying to think what is in the North Western part of Montana... I've been there to visit close friends, but for the life of me I can't remember what part of the state they live in. The town they live close to is Stanford... possibly central Montana?

Thanks! We are from a tiny town called Columbia falls, it's about 121 miles northwest of Missoula and right outside of glacier national park. I love it there, so much.

I'm not asking for much out of my house, single level, small, laundry room on the same level as the living and sleeping area. Obviously I want a root cellar, but I'll dig that away from the house with a nice shed over the access.

We are hoping to produce enough power in the summer with solar and wind that we can sell some to the electric company so the bill won't be too bad in the winter. I'd like to collect rainwater for my garden and for wAshing. But there I go dreaming again. :)

Welcome wren! from Michigan. Do you quilt or sew? I was just wondering how the fabric stores are in Hawaii. One day I would love to go there just for a vacation, but I always have to search out the fabric stores. I was just wondering if they had nice one in Hawaii? Hope you enjoy yourself here at MJF's. It is a wonderful place to talk to others that have the same interests.

I sew a bit. Nothing to fancy, just our reusable "paper" towel and our napkins. i do baby wipes out of flannel. My favorite fabric store on island is Kaimuki Dry Goods. I also enjoy The Calico Cat :)
