Hello All,

First I would like to say I love the name of this site I found this site when I googled kefir grains (to buy), go figure. Well, I like this forum for the fact you can all talk about healthy way of life and farm animals. I was on a site called the yeast connection, but they didn't talk about animals. I have 4 ducks and a cat (ducks live outside). I currently live in PA and trying to sell my house to move back to southern NJ, near family. I was born in NY. I still have alot more reading to do on the forum, so talk later.

Thank you and God Bless

Hi BB! Where in PA are you? Do you see anything in the works for getting back to NJ and home?

We're glad you're here!

Hey--I feel creative today Ok, I live in eastern PA in Monroe county (in the Pocono's). I live about 25 mins from the stroudsburg mall. Well, I wish I can take this property with house but rearrange the house floor plan to NJ. From the outside it is different from other houses in the area. It looks like a country house. Anyway, I miss NJ, but we plan on moving to Manahawkin/Toms River area. I use to live in central NJ, but I was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved when I was 10 to NJ. I want to be closer to my family again.
Thank you and God Bless
BB

Hi there, BBINTC. I live in NYS now, but I used to live in Philadelphia. In fact, I was just in Wilkes-Barre for Thanksgiving weekend. I'm all nostalgic for Eastern PA now. (But south jersey is probably nicer.) Have you ever visited the Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation? I highly recommend it.

No never been there, where is it located? Hubby and I were just talking about going to steamtown in Scranton. I thought I liked the country, but I feel so far away from things. The 2 main reasons we are moving is family and no work and hubby is tired of the commute to work--67 miles one way to work, that is about the average commute for everyone in this area. The bus at the corner goes to NY every morning, leaves at 4 o clock am, it takes 2 hours for them to go to work. I think it's nuts. I rather pay more for a small house and have more job oppourtunites. I have never collected unemployment and for the first time out here have collected 2x's. The only good out of this house is the profit from it will let us put a good amount down for the house in NJ.

Thank you and God Bless
BB

The Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation is near Media, PA. It's west of Philadelphia on rte 3. It's a neat place for a lot of reasons. It was a working farm continuously from 1700 to about 1960. It was restored to portray the period just before the Revolution, with animals and gardens. It has the original well with a working wellsweep outside the kitchen door - you can draw up a bucket of water. And the whole place is located inside a state park, so it's surrounded by woods and hiking trails. It's closed for the season now, but it's a great place to visit.

Hi there, welcome. I live in NJ (central, Lambertville) and think it's okay. I was raised in the midwest. Hope you sell your place soon. We are trying to buy near where we rent now so we can stay close to family but are finding it difficult, especially because of property taxes. I wouldn't like a 2 hr. commute either. Will keep you in my prayers for a quick, profitable sale.
