Does anyone know anything about this "chicken flu"? I have heard a little this and that, but can't confirm anything.
Just curious what you all have heard.

I know here in Michigan the chickens are not allowed at the fair this year. Those showing chickens will place a picture on their cage and use a stuffed chicken to show. From what we were told at our 4h meeting the chickens if freerange especially and eating birdseed from the ground, that wild birds may have pooed on are at risk. That may not be exactly the whole thing but, that's kind of what they were talking about at the meeting. |

it is extremly contagious, it affects all poultry and always results in death, if it is found in your poultry, the powers that be will euthanize all poultry on your place, they have aleady euthanized several million laying hens, meat chickens and turkeys, this is effecting the price and avalibility of eggs and meat in the stores, and also the shipping of day olds, when it was here several years back, they would euthanize all birds and burn your wood coops, had a neighbor who's peacocks were shot out of the trees, it was horrible and a huge finacile loss for all...
