We braved our horribly hot and humid weekend by going to the "Nature Connects" art with Lego bricks by Sean Kenney display at the Morton Arboretum in Lilse. The displays were beautiful! It was very impressive and amazing to see each of these creations. I have to say it was hard to choose a favorite, but for some reason the red wheelbarrow stands out for me. I guess the gardener in me is coming through! I posted 3 of the sculptures here. The first is the wheelbarrow, the second is called "Grandfather and Granddaughter Gardening", the last one is a monarch with a milkweed. If you are in IL, please make a point to see this display. It is going now through November 1, 2015.

Oh my Gosh Dawn...those are simply Amazing!!! I have never seen such artistic creations done in Legos
before. I wish I lived near enough to come see this for myself but since I don't...Thank You for sharing
this. I love all 3 that you posted but my favorite is probably the Grandfather and little girl gardening.
Most Impressive to me!!! ~ And to think, raising 3 boys (now men) I use to get so tired of finding Legos
everywhere in my living room. LOL I never saw the creative potential just the mess. LOL

Hugs and Smiles,
Peggy

I'm so glad you ladies enjoyed them. I am rather helpless with Lego's, though all 3 of my sons loved them and could build anything very quickly with them. Here are a few more pictures of the displays.

Gorgeous!! Kind of reminds me of the Etch a Sketch artists. Funny story.
A friend of mine who is a painter told me she wants to be cremated when she dies, and put in an Etch A Sketch, so she can keep on with her art.
The mind of the artist.. LOL!
That is some kind of special Dawn!

They are indeed "Wowee Zowee" CeeJay!
Noreen, we live about 12 minutes from the arboretum and I am a volunteer gardener/trail monitor there as well. There is always something going on there all year long.

Love these! I have always harbored a secret love for legos. I loved playing with them as a kid. Now this is an inspiration for using legos as an adult!

Wow Bonnie! I didn't know they had several of these touring the country. The one at the Morton Arboretum will be here through November 1. I hope everyone can make it to one of these arboretums to see these amazing sculptures.

I am posting a pictures of the last few. They didn't come out too well thanks to the bright sunshine, but you can still see how impressive they are. The first one is a tortoise with a Darwin Finch on it's back, next is the ant hill with my youngest son looking at the camera, third is a dragonfly and finally a corn spider (Yikes!).
