Thought I would share what I am learning about now. I have been adding compost to my garden and also wood mulch. But I noticed things still are not doing as good as it could be. I am planting in the same place every year because its the only flat space on my farm close to the house to grow things without critters eating it. So it only goes to show that plants are taking away from the soil every year. Compost and wood mulch do help but its not going to take care of the trace minerals.
I have been researching and reading about remineralization!!!Its basically adding rock dust back into the soil. Its pretty neat and thought I would share this info. I am including one of the links that I was reading about. Its really cool and I am going to be adding to my garden this evening. I have 100 lbs of rock dust or dolomite dust. I hope this helps my garden and makes my veggies more nutritious.
Here is another link about rock dust. This guy has utube site and talks about rock dust. This guy is a total trip. He is worth watching and learning from. He has lots of videos.
