I was soooooo mad when I found trails and trails of ants going into my beehive. My poor bees have a hard enough time just tending to their duties and now had to deal with invaders.

I didn't want to put out poison or other type of insecticide. I tried sprinkling DE all around. It didn't do a thing to deter them.

My final act of offense was to put a large tray of vegetable oil under the hive box with the box being set upon blocks that are inside the tray of oil. The ants can make it to the tray but cannot get across the oil to the blocks.

The ants that do make it to the oil die, Die, DIE!!!!

mmmmuuuuaaaaahhhhahaahaahaa (evil villain laugh)

One of the best compliments from one of my daughters: "Moma, you smell good...like dirt.

Try using cinnamon. I had some ants move into my greenhouse. Cinnamon made them move out!
