Beautiful sunshine and a frigid 12 out here for us. It feels like -4 with the windchill, spring is definitely not in the air yet by us. I do have my fingers crossed that it will show up very quickly. I've had enough of these polar temperatures!

We finally got snow this week! We desperately need it here in the dry, southwest . . . been dealing with too many drought years.
However, it's not terribly cold for which I'm thankful. The snow is heavy and wet and is melting rather quickly!
We were having unusually warm temps and our fruit trees are getting ready to bud, my lilac bush has buds on it and in cleaning out my flower beds find that the daylilies are putting up new green growth. It's TOO EARLY for this kind of growth!

CJ, I know what you mean! All of the trees here are blooming! My bulbs have just shot up! We've really lucked out with the sunny weekends and rainy weekdays! Hubby and I have been DIY-ing like mad! Grateful for it, but it sure is crazy for February!

I am hoping spring is right around the corner. So far this week we have had warmer weather (50 degrees). I hear children playing outside and have even opened windows for fresh air! It’s so exciting.

Here in my little part of northeast Texas spring is in the air and my bones. We have had a mild winter thanks to a strong El Nino. High 60s daytime and high 30s-40s at night. It's been so mild and sunny that I have moved all my plants out of the little cottage and lil greenhouse onto the deck. If we do get a freeze I can easily cover them.

Tomorrow I will move the only house plants out to deck. It's my 2015 Jubilee mini-garden. It has a lg pincushion cactus & 3 babies, several jade plant starts, and ponytail cactus.

It's supposed to hit 70 tomorrow. It was only 3 a week ago. We have had well under a foot of snow total so far. This is unheard of. It scares me. It's like we had no winter at all. This is NOT how it used to be.

We just hit 25 Inches of rain for the last 2 1/2 months. 17 inches of it happened in December.
We have also had yo-yo temps. One weeks it is in the 60's and the next week it is in the low
30's again. All of our Spring Plants are starting to bloom early...they are a bit confused as to
what they should do. We have Rhodes blooming, Camellia's blooming plus the bulbs flowers are
coming up. It is just crazy. But I am ready for Spring and Summer...just Bring It On!!!

Hugs,
Peggy

We've had quite the quirky winter this year too in the Chicago area. From below freezing temperatures to almost 60 for tomorrow! We'll be 50's for the weekend and then back to the 30's for next week. I think this has one of the lowest snowfalls we've had for a winter here. It is frustrating though getting adjusted to cold then getting warm, then back to cold. I look forward to a early spring that hopefully will stick around.

The weather has been gorgeous here the past couple of weeks, I love it! Suppose to get high winds today but still warm!
Have a beautiful day and wherever you are I hope you have a lovely day!

Deb, I wonder if you are getting some of the same winds as us. We had terrible winds last night that I could have sworn my house was going to blow away. I spoke to soon yesterday. We had bad winds, thunder, lightning, and snow today. The news even said that our winds were as strong as tornado winds. So be careful Deb if these are the same winds and storm heading your way.

Krista, we have your winds today. Darn near blow you off the road. Temps to be 50s tomorrow and then 30s next week. But spring doesn't usually come until late April.

Yup, my calendar says tomorrow, the 20th, is the first day of spring. Today it's in the high 50s with a chilly breeze. I just came back from a visit to my daughter's in the Phoenix, Arizona area. It was in mid-80s, warm and sunny . . . shorts and tank top weather. I get back home last evening to 5o degrees and the pellet stove lit! What a difference!

It was sunny and nice on Sunday, very nice on Monday with high around 70. Yesterday it changed! The wind started blowing like a banshee, the air so full of red dust we couldn't see the mountains . . . it was blowing in from New Mexico, Arizona and Utah! UGGGGGHHHH!!!

The wind quit after sundown and then it started snowing at 9:00 PM, but only put down a light layer. This morning the wind started up again, but not quite as strong. But it is COLD and WINTRY and BLUSTERY! Fortunately, for us we're on the "Western Slope" (of the Colorado Rockies) of the state and not getting the terrible weather the "Front Range" (eastern side of the Rockies) is getting!

Noticed the aprioot tree down the road is in full bloom, but I'm sure it'll get zapped by the cold!
Brrrrr . . . springtime in the Rockies!
