I'm all for the evening libation, plus a hubby back rub (although mine could use some instruction.. he's like getting a backrub from a bear claw)
But, I'm afraid the best advice is to do it over and over and built up tolerance!
Jealous that you can do it. We are at -10 right now!

Do you use herbs at all? The Bulk Herb Store sells an herbal muscle mix to make a salve. It works fantastic! We made a batch last year and we are STILL using the salve we made and it works just as well!

Lisa, I too have a "Bear Claw" guy... lol!

Shannon, I wish I could get my DH to apply the eucalyptus save on my lower back, but he doesn't like the smell,,, the big baby! lol!

I need to remind myself to weed in small increments, not the whole exterior around the house in one day! lol! especially after coming out of winter hibernation! lolol!

I cleaned out our garden last week, pulling up all the black plastic we use and the frames, etc. to hold it down. Still have carrots in the ground, so dug a few of those. It wasn't a major job but I could tell I haven't been gardening for a few months.

We SHOULD have snow on the ground, but we don't. It is warmer than normal (until the last two days) so might as well do something outside.
The scary part is that we have had yet another dry winter and we've already suffered through too many years of drought. Will we have water to irrigate this summer? That's a question we're all asking!

I cleaned out our garden last week with very little muscle complaints.
Started cleaning out my flowerbeds and rock gardens on Thursday. Did some on Friday as well . . . not too bad. But I'm taking it in smaller increments. Still have the herb garden and biggest flower bed to do.

Comfrey is such an incredible herb!!!! It works to rebuild tissue. We use it quite often whenever the kids get hurt... that and arnica flowers. Between the two, the swelling goes down, and the area quickly heals. Those two might be my favorite medicinal herbs. Well... hmmm I would have to add yarrow and plantain for their ability to fight infection.... and eucalyptus for breathing issues... and echinacea as an immune booster. Okay - I lie - I cannot chose just two for favorites ;) All that to say I too love comfrey!

Grace, you could try DMSO. Your feed store should carry it. It comes in gel form and a roll on. I call it my 'horse medicine' since it's something that's put on race horses for their muscles. Like any home remedy, there's contradicting opinions about if it works or if it should be used off label.

My opinion is that it works for me. I also use it as a carrier for other things like oregano oil or other essential oils. Being that it's a carrier, the other oils get deeper and quicker absorption.

I sure hope you feel better.

Oh Cath, will I start 'whinnying' if I use it? This "old nag" wouldn't mind feeling like a Race Horse every now and then! lolol!

I love it that you called me Cath. So personal and friendly.

Girl, you just go ahead and be a race horse. Let's see, your name would be.....Covered in Grace (as opposed to being covered in cr*p) haha

A hot bath always does wonders...unless of course you got into poison ivy. ;)
