I scored a sweet lil Singer Feather Weight 221 sewing machine... and the machine works awesome, the case how ever was a bit musty and drab...
I place 2cups of kitty litter and a scoop of Washing Soda, closed the lid and let it sit for a week.
Then the fun began....
I spray painted the inside and out side... then with my trusty bottle of Mod Podge, began the beautification process...

(the before)

case painted, fabric ready to go.

ready to decorate...

front and back

left & right sides..

top side and the underside of the lid...
Yep I had fun.... I did Bling it up but my camera didn't show the rhinestones,, bummer!
Now when I take my little feather weight machine with me... it will travel in it's cute case..

This is cute. You did a nice job with the painting too. Is the box made out of wood covered in vinyl? I have a box needs the inside redone. Thanks!

Oh, I so LOVE it. What a great job, I'm such a Lucy fanatic. Thank you so much for sharing this, I'm going to have to make myself something like this. I always love to see what you are working on.

hugs,

Thanx Marcy,,, it was a fun project...

Anna, it was a wood box covered w/the black 'fabric/vinyl type material...
Spray painting both the inside and out help to rid the musty smell even tho' the litter & soda got rid of most of it.. there was just a wee hint of odor... no there is no odor.
Since I painted the case first, I didn't feel the need to 'Gesso' it... but if I had chosen to decoupage' direct to the case I would have brushed on a layer of Gesso... (in the craft paint section of any craft store w/oil & acrylic artist paints.
