Hi Farmgirls, It's been a long while since I was last here. Not sure if many of you even remember me. I needed to shut down and make my world very, very small for awhile. Now that I'm coming out of the fog of last year I really want to focus on adding positives back in to my life.
As some of you remember, we were in process of adopting an 8 year old boy from Ethiopia. That didn't work out. Felt like losing a child, but he is in a more appropriate family to help him with some pretty extreme issues.
In November, my mom lost her battle with cancer and we said goodbye. Beautiful and heartbreaking. I miss her each and every day though.
There were a couple of other major things that hit our family as well.
So yeah, 2014 was rough. It started off filled with anticipation and excitement...but we know God is good through it all. And I hope it's ok to come back here now.
One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. Bob Marley www.joyfulandsimple.wordpress.com

Wendy I am so sorry your 2014 turned out to be so rough. I am so sorry for your loss in your mother. I know it has to be so hard. I too have a rough 2014, four people, 2 family and two friends were diagnosed with cancer. Staying positive is so very important. I am glad you are back here. This is such a nice place in which so many are positive. So you will be right back with a wonderful group of farmgirl family.

Wendy, I'm so glad you're gaining some strength back and coming out of the fog. You've had a lot of loss and you need to heal emotionally and physically. It's amazing the toll grief can take on our physical bodies. I'll be praying for you.

We too have experienced adoption disruption (through foster care) and it was horrible. My husband and I also experienced a disrupted adoption match when the birth mom changed her mind. What I have learned is that you can't judge the dawn by the previous night. Even though things seem really hard right now, you just keep putting one foot in front of the other...before you know it, "you have survived!"
Oh....and 3 months after our match fell apart, we were gifted with our sweet baby Joel. He is 14 months old now and the light of our lives.
Welcome back. |

Oh Wendy, I wish I could hug you. You have been thru so much and thankfully are coming out on the other side. SO sorry about your loses. It is so difficult to lose a parent. I also know how much your boy meant to you. I'm sorry for your pain and send prayers for healing. 2014 was a difficult year for me too. My Dad died 3 years ago. The 3 years of his dementia before that damn near killed me. I just now feel as if I am starting to get some of my old self back again. I feel more positive about 2015 but within the past week my hubby and I have had major financial difficulty ( not our fault) that is now a huge burden. I'm trying to stay positive. You are back where you belong-here, among women who care for you and support you in good and bad. We are farmgirl family. You have my address. I'd love to hear from you and this time I promise to write back. I send you warm hugs and prayers of comfort, joey
