I had a parathyroid surgery about a year and a half ago, The surgeon removes 3 1/2 outof 4. My PTH is elevated again and having many issues. I need to find a surgeon that does these type surgeries daily. I am 57 and feel like my life is slipping away, passed caring anymore and that scares me. Just have waves of being so sick. |

Kem, I would start with a visit to your general physician to get some help and advice on where to turn for a surgical consult or to meet with an endocrinologist. Perhaps there are some medications that you can take since you already have had a big surgery. Good luck and I hope you will find someone with expertise in your issue very soon! Take care and we are all here to support you!

Kem - I'm not sure where you are located, but Jason Prescott at Johns Hopkins is a PHENOMENAL endocrine surgeon! It was worth the trips up to see him for my surgery, and I know he would have been able to do my parathyroid surgery had I needed it at the time, as well. (They decided to wait and see if my adrenal surgery would fix the rest of my hormones). Please know I am praying for you and I so agree with Winnie - we are all here to support you!!!

Thanks for all the thought. Would appreciate the prayers., I did go to my pcp and we decided to do a MRI and see if my pituitary gland is OK. He also suggested I go somewhere and see if it is my parathyroid again. The really good surgeons are many hours away. Have to think about that for a bit. In the meantime I also had an appointmnet with the endo. He does not know what to make of it. He suggested a rhuematologist and immunologist. He said sometime things over lap. He gave me names of doc 1 1/2 hours away. Closer than what I am use to. Busy week seeing docs, but am feeling better and looking forward to seeing other docs that might be able to fit the pieces together. I am hoping to get some more genetic testing done. Already know I have 2 mutations. Thanks for listening, sometimes it just helps to get it off my chest. |

Kem I hope you get to a good doctor soon that knows about Lyme disease and how it upsets the whole body this way. I am so happy with the one I found. I am improving daily with my overall feeling of enjoying life again.

Marsha, how are you coming with your health. I feel better, but have been having bouts of kidney stones and herxes from treating Bart and Babesia. Just wondering if your doc has you on anything you think has really helped.

I am hypothyroid due to Hashimoto's and I have fired all my doctors. Go to www.stopthethyroidmadness.com and read other people's stories and what they have done. I am taking the Natural Desiccated Thyroid and have started to get my life back! Good luck and prayers sent to you.

Diane, what are your Hashimoto symptoms. I have had a doctor ask me if I didn't have it. I thought, hummmm, isn't that your job to test and tell me if I have it. I have been to 4 endos all a wreck. So disheartening. I have the stop the thyroid madness. At the time I bought it I was too sick to read and comprehend it. I will dig it out and read it again. I do know that since I have been on a product for adrenals and DHEA I am much better as far as the hormones go. I am currently working with a naturopath to correct hormonal and thyroid issues. I had a bunch of tests and will get results and consultation from her this Tues. REally interested to see what she has to say. We rechecked all level for hyperparathyroid also. |
