Girls, Remember when you mail Diane payment for the books from the USA, put extra postage on the envelope for Canada. I put on three stamps. My postman said two or three stamps, So I put three just to be sure. NANCY JO

Folks, I just determined that the US Postal Service will issue international money orders; fee is around three dollars and up, depending upon amount of the money order. So, one trip to the post office will take care of the financial part and postage, too.
Check out usps website for more details.

Yippee, I mailed my international money order to you today, Diane!
Easy as pie, no conversion math necessary for the money order(after you determine the correct shipping charges.)
I had done the conversion to CAD dollars on the website, and asked the clerk for the converted amount on the money order. Turns out, the money order is issued in U.S. dollars, and it gets converted into Canadian dollars at your bank, but there are no "sent for collection" delays like with a U.S. dollar personal check. She kindly voided the first one and re-did it in the US dollar amount, and it is on its way to you!
Serial No. 74100298961 - $80.97
The postage from U.S. to Canada is .63 for one oz. regular envelope, and they do issue stamps in this amount. You could also use two 39cent stamps if it is easier.
IMPORTANT ---- DO NOT put non-numerical stamps on international mail (remember the B series, etc. stamps that come out when the postal rates first go up. There must be a currency amount on the stamp itself for international mail.

My money is coming! Don't give up on me! I took the info to the post office on Saturday 11-11 and they were closed, carried it around for two days, took it to work with me, and there it sits on my desk. I keep thinking about it when I get home at night... I need to take it to the post office after work tomorrow. I am sending myself an email to look for it right now!

Well, duh! Of course it's Canadian. I had that lightbulb moment on the way to work yesterday. When I posed the question (pre-caffeine) I wasn't sure if my computer knew I was in the US checking out the rates or what. Sometimes my computer knows more than me. :) |

I got my cookbook today in the mail. Got home from work and there it was waiting for me on the dining room table with todays mail. It is so wonderfully put together. It was great to see all of the recipes from familiar names that I see all the time on this forum. Can't wait to try some of the recipes.
Thanks Diane for doing this

I received my cookbooks today and I cannot tell you how professional and well done they are. Anyone who has not ordered should try to find out if you still can. The recipes are good and the anecdotes that accompany the recipes are great fun to read. Diane did an absolutely wonderful job and deserves a lot of credit for undertaking such a daunting task.

I received my cookbooks in today's mail! Beautiful work--really well done. Thank you so much, Diane!
A perhaps minor correction for page 2-1, the Maple glazed Nuts... I always have added the cranberries after the mix comes out of the oven rather than roasting them in the mix. It might not matter, however.
What FUN to have a Farmgirl cookbook! And!! Still time to mail out as gifts. Big hug to Diane! XO, Ann

Diane,
I received my package of cookbooks today...I am dumbstruck, impressed, proud, honored to have been part of this effort, words just fail me.
This project, without a doubt, was the nicest "finished" project, in the shortest amount of time, with the least amount of hassle (at least on my part, you probably wish you never suggested it.)
Anyway, I am really pleased and cannot wait to give these to my nearest and dearest (only those very special people on my list!) this Christmas season.
Bravissimo!
Jo

Shirley,
When you go to the U.S. post office, ask the clerk for an Intenrational Money Order, issued in U.S. funds. Te money order is issued to you in U.S. dollars, and it gets converted into Canadian dollars at yiane's Canadian bank, but there are no "sent for collection" delays like with a U.S. dollar personal check. The cost was about $3.00 for mine, but I needed to pay for seven cookbooks.
Hope that helps.

Diane:
if it's not too late, I'd love to get on the bandwagon. Will send a separate email with details to be sure I'm getting it all right...
Thanks for putting this together and being willing to coordinate the whole thing!
