Have you girls seen this?

I stumbled on these looking at a blog of a girl in the UK who chose my same screen name - bright meadow - other than the name we seemingly have nothing in common...

She said it was "technology gone too far" but I don't know... I am thinking I might need these for knitting after dark on the long car trips to Michigan and back...

I have seen them - they would be a fun novelty item to have or give as a gift. Not sure how easy the knitting needles would be to use, though.

they are ment for knitting ort crocheting in the dark. if you are like me when we visit relatives in california I take projects to work on in the car. When it gets dark I can't work any more this is so you can continue to work and not have a big light on distracting the driver. I haven't purchased these yet but I have thought about it a few times they just don't make them in small enough sizes for what I do.

Hi Sunshine: We sell these at ACMoore. You are right in the fact that we don't have any that are really small sizes. We also sell the batteries that go with them. They are selling like hotcakes for the very reason you gave.....to knit or crochet in the dark. If you would like me to get you a pair, I would be glad to. I get a good discount plus can use a coupon. Let me know! We don't want your fingers to stop working! With love and blessings! Susan

If you would that would be neat I would be more intersted in the smallest crochet hook and the biggest knitting kneedles they have as my skill with knitting isn;t what I would like yet so I work on big needles still. Thank you that would be nice

I've seen these but am not such a fan. Aren't they plastic? Maybe I'm a needle snob (I am!) but I prefer working with wooden needles. To knit in the dark on road trips, I just use my camping "miner's" headlight. Works great as long as I keep my head down and promise to not look at my husband as he's driving...he hates that. :)

I'm so glad you like them. We don't sell the lighted crochet hooks yet. Please do with the wooden dolls as you wish....save them or give them to them now. I couldn't resist them. I sent the extra batteries in case you ran out of "light" on one of your trips. Pop them in and keep going! Susan

Do these lighted needles only come in 2 straight needles?
I only use cirs and four bamboos to knit with.
I guess there wouldnt be any place to put batteries in double pointed or cirs, would there. DUH
I guess scarves would work ok, just make alot of scarves when knitting in the dark hehe

Michael's here in town has them--I saw them when I was there on Saturday.

I'm not sure about these myself. I think they could be fun in a movie theater, but I doubt the other movie-goers would agree...

I think I'll stick with a miner's headlamp like you, Catherine. If you are working on an intricate pattern, the headlamp wins hands down.
