I was recently assigned a role as a Secret Santa to a seamstress. Not have any additional ideas about her skill level or likes or if she is even close to a fabric store. Can you share some monthly ideas of what I might send her?
Thanks!

Here are a few ideas, Debi:

Make her a mason jar pincushion (lots of tutorials online).

Give her a sewing bird. Here is a picture of one on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Reproduction-Sewing-Bird-With-Clamp-and-Pin-Cushion-New-/191323360955?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c8bc2cebb

Vintage sewing patterns - think aprons, perhaps?

Everyone needs a good pair of pinking shears!

A pattern drafting ruler.

A nice pair of vintage embroidery scissors.

Pretty thimbles.

Does she have a die cutting machine? You could always pick up some neat dies in pretty shapes for her to use!

A neat little sewing basket.

Cool vintage buttons - really pretty, unusual ones!

You could also make her a scrapbook for her to keep pictures of her favorite creations in, using sewing themed papers and embellishments.

Get a vintage tin can with a sewing machine theme and fill it with neat ribbons, laces, cording, tassels and notions.

A neat catch-all for her sewing tools to sit ready at hand on her sewing table.

Something to organize her spools of thread.

I hope this gives you some neat ideas. I'm not a sewer (was, but haven't sewn in years), but I know quite a few and have gifted some of these types of things to them over the years and they've loved them!

Have fun!

Hugs -

Nini

Great ideas!!!! Love the cookie idea!
Here's 3 ideas I do:
..find a fun craft sewing pattern then include all the needed supplies. It doesn't have to be big! Wrap the kit in fabric & make the bow out of buttons wired to look like flowers.
..share vintage trims or wooden type purse handles are big right now
..different types of pins & needles
