Sharon...what is your "THINK So" about this settlement?
$93 Million Sounds Good but will it really do any good in the long run...
to those affected in Nitro?
My Father-In-Law died from Cancer due to Agent Orange exposure. He flew Fighter Planes in Vietnam. The Government tested Agent Orange out on it's own Military People to see what affects it would have. Hello???? Are you kidding me?

It's not just Monsanto...that needs to pay the Price for the Agent Orange Crisis.

Thanks for posting those two Articles.

Blessings and Prayers for those in Nitro and all over the World that were affected by that Toxin and Killer,

Peggy

My cousin (he was my dad's) also died from cancer due to agent orange exposure during the Vietnam War... and my dad is still battling the effects. And there has been some discussion if us children have our health issues as a result of the government's "testing."

I pray that this is the beginning of the end for Monsanto's power over our country!

Peggy I agree that Monsanto isn't the only one at fault. We had a friend who served in Vietnam as well and saw him and his health dwindle. It would be nice to see the government take care of it's military. Every time my honey has an appointment at the VA hospital, it just about brings me to tears to see the sacrifices made and how the veterans are mostly treated. Sorry, I can really get carried away with how our military and Veterans are treated. I am sorry to hear about your father-in-law and Shannon I am sorry for the loss of your cousin and what your Dad is dealing with.

It sounds like a huge settlement but you can't put a price tag on your health. At least maybe this will help people with the care and extras they need due to being exposed. It's an eye-opener and hopefully Monsanto will realize what they are doing.

I was just reading tonight that the EPA is now CERTAIN that chemicals in a certain herbicide (fill in the blank) are what's killing the bees, butterflies, birds and reptiles. Farmers use this (fill in the blank) in their fields and people use it in their yards. Modern agribusiness is based on using chemicals that were originally developed in WW II. When the war was over, the government went to work on declaring war on the Earth itself, killing the "pests" that are all part of the great web of life. When will people see that everything is connected? I marched against (fill in the blank) in May and that company was so paranoid there were police everywhere, a helicopter was flying around, taking pictures of all participants. God help us all.

Sharon.... As a military wife, I have a tendency of getting angry about the way the military is treated.... Most of us are barely able to make ends meet. Our "free health care" is most definitely not free and is nowhere near being the best. I have been fighting the same medical issues since 1997. It wasn't until I went to a doctor off base a little over a year ago that they figured out it is a mass on my adrenal gland causing the problems. With all that said, most military members and families are not after the "benefits" yet rather are fulfilling their duty to protect their country and their families. Do I still think they way our men and women are treated is wrong - most definitely yes, but many are proud of what they are doing for our freedoms, and will continue to stand up for our nation's rights, though there is no reciprocating actions.

Cindy - I totally agree with you! We are killing ourselves by killing the "pests" and vegetation God blessed us with. God makes no mistakes, and He put bees, insects, etc on this earth for a reason. Unfortunately, if we ever do wake up and realize what we are doing, in time, it will still have massive repercussions for years to come!
