Good morning, girls!

Oh, my… I just watched a news clip about this adorable little local girl, Lilly Myers, who has a special request. She is participating in the 2014 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in honor of her beloved great-grandmother, Nanny, who suffers with the disease. Her hope is to receive donations from every single state to help her raise funds to find a cure: http://act.alz.org/site/TR/Walk2014/PA-GreaterPennsylvania?px=7981835&pg=personal&fr_id=5382

This little sweetie just blows me away! I know that times are tough for many of us right now, but I’m sure that she would be greatly encouraged by even a little note from you posted to her website. More importantly, it would be wonderful if each of us would take a moment right now in a moment of silence to reflect upon and pray for those suffering with this horrible illness, as well as their loved ones and those working diligently to find a cure. As we have seen so often, the effectual, fervent prayer of us farmgirls truly does availeth much!

Thanks so much for praying with me and supporting Lilly’s efforts. I just thought so many of our lives have been touched by this devastating disease that you would be encouraged by her enthusiasm, just as much as I am!

Hugs and love –

Nini

Thank You Nini for sharing this. I lost my Brother In Law at the age of 48 to this disease. I also know many struggling at the moment, dealing with their loved ones that have it.

Awww... Judy! Maddie! I'm so sorry! This truly is such a rotten disease, like you said, Judy. It's heartbreaking. I just heard from a friend who is also in the throes of this with her mother. It's tearing my friend's heart apart to see what is happening, and that breaks my heart. Life is just so tough sometimes, and it's so hard when we come to the realization that there truly is nothing we can do to make things better and heal our loved ones. Prayer is the key - even if the answer isn't a cure, I am sure as I breathe that God hears our prayers and answers them with sometimes even the tiniest of miracles to help us through the greatest storms. Let's continue to pray for a cure, and, until that day arrives, for relief from the suffering for both the patients and their loved ones. Hugs - Nini
