Yep, I'm ready. The Lowcountry in South Carolina is like the first level of Hades in the summer. I am ALWAYS ready for change by the end of July. I'm extra stoked this year as we are in the process of moving upstate. I'll be breaking out my autumn and winter gear this year!! I will actually get to experience all four seasons and when I get tired, I can come back to the Lowcountry to thaw out.

Connie... this Recipe sounds so good and I will make it in Sept or Oct. Sounds Awesome!
Does it Come out Moist? That is what I am looking for...a real dense but moist Applesauce Bread.

This is my first year in a state without a "real" winter. Pumpkins with no frost and Christmas with no snow is going to feel weird!

Welcome to the South, Jessie! You will see frost in your area by late October and early November. Snow is more likely to come in late January or February but Christmas is usually cold, at least by southern standards. What we lack in early cold, we make up for it in the Spring with Pink and White Dogwoods, daffodils, tulips and variety of other incredible flowering trees like the Bradford Pear! Living up in Durham is a great area because there are four distinct seasons and each one beautiful. Most likely the summers will be longer and hotter that where you used to live, but the other 3 seasons are nice. I grew up in Virginia and that mid-Atlantic region has a very temperate climate. I hope you enjoy your new location!!

Ya know, summer is my favorite season. But then, fall comes and it is a close second! Fall here is lovely. I love the way everything looks here with the trees. People travel from all over to see our foliage. I love the nip in the air (until it gets so cold I have to wear a coat), and I love, love, love pumpkins! I love Halloween decor (the cute, vintage kind with whimsy), and the baking.

I read somewhere that because fall is so early this year (our leaves are already changing and there's been lots of cool in the air already), that Starbucks is bringing its pumpkin coffee early.

I was at JoAnns and bought some fall fabric to make some fall crafts, so fall fever must be contagious...

Enjoy your candy corn!
Farmgirl Hugs,
Nicole

Shannon, Florida does get fall, and the nice thing is it lasts all winter!!! No snow, just cold days and lower humidity. We even get some color in the dogwoods and the blueberry bushes, and the hardwoods. Not like up north, but enough to feel that summer is over.
