We had to hastily acquire a tent for next week's trip to MN. I'm trying to figure some cheap but glamp style lighting to use inside the tent. I've found a strand of battery operated outdoor led stars I think would be great outside that I plan to order. Not sure I want to pay double for the cute lantern style or I might buy them at a later date if I don't get my camper soon (grrr). Any ideas from you glamping pros? I don't have a lot of space in my Jeep Cherokee especially since we'll be taking all 3 of my dogs with so large items won't work.

If you have a store called FiveBelow they have small Chinese lantern strings of lights for $5.00 each. I think they are online too.
God bless,

How about twisting the strand around a canning jar basket - the one that you would use in your canner while water bath canning? You could move the arms to the center top, and then hand the whole thing from them. Or, maybe you could use twist ties to attach the strand to the inside of a metal colander, weaving the ties through the holes and around the strand. You could then use another twist tie centered at the top of the colander in a loop to hang the "chandelier." Just a few ideas to help... Please post pics when you've made your creation, Tammy! I'd love to see it! Hugs - Nini

My daughter and I do a lot of tent glamping and we purchased a lantern that LOOKS like the red Coleman lanterns that is LED and operates on batteries, with two settings. WE LOVE IT!!! It is made by Coleman. It works well in our tent and we don't have to worry about flame, fuel, etc. CJ

Great ideas, Tammy! Just want to let you know that that chair is on sale for 24.99 at victoriantradingco.com right now. They also have a lovely rose floral sleeping bag for glamping, too. I've had my eyes on both for the past week! :) Have fun! Hugs, Nini

It's addictive, Grace... It's addictive... Even if only for the inspiration! Oh, how I love their goodies! Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era... I could've lived quite contentedly back then... OR in the Early American time period... Or in the 40's... Or... Well... I think God knew what He was doing when He created me for now, actually... Because now I can enjoy ALL the wonderful of ALL the wonderful time periods, and live the life eclectic! LOL!
I really need to get a glamper... ;)

Nini, I love your idea of repurposing a canning jar basket -- an egg basket would work, too. They're lightweight and provide endless opportunities for weaving a stand of lights around to make a glampy "chandelier" to hang form those itty-bitty loops they put at the tops of tents -- heck, you could even just throw the whole strand in there in a clump and it would look pretty.
I have to go now to victoriantradingco.com and daydream a little :) |
