Hi all~ I am new here and wanted to introduce myself. My DH and I just bought a home with 10 hilly acres and 2 year around springs. We live in NC just a few miles from the TN boarder. I am a mother of 5 and grandmother to 11. I love gardening, cross stitch, reading and herbs. I grew up in the Appalachia Mountains but my hubby and I have lived all over the United States. He was from San Francisco! After early retirement I continued to pursue my love of herbs and last year my little on line herbal businesses suddenly jumped to over 75000 likes on Facebook. So now the herbal business is a full time job for my husband and I. I really look forward to getting to know you and Mary Jane better |

Welcome Tamara,
I was born and raised in Southern California but I like calling North Carolina home. I think your area is some of the most beautiful in the state. We looked at land up off Hwy 226 just outside Bakersville but ended up buying over in Burke County. We live close to Charlotte but hope to move up to the mountain some time soon. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Welcome Tamara! Congratulations on your herbal business gaining momentum too. I too grew up in the foothills of the Applachians in Charlottesville, Va., which is just "up the trail": from you down in NC!

Hello, I am southern lady, I am new here. I thought I said hello yesterday to everyone but I must have not got it right. I live in Idaho near Coer d' alene but I am originally from Georgia which is why people say I " talk funny" ie southern accent. Well, I say somebody has to talk that way. I just joined the sisterhood and will receive my membership packet in a few days. I like to sew, read, draw and am looking forward to learning new things while working on badges and meeting people from all over and learning from my new sisters.

Welcome! Always good to make a new friend. I encourage you to get involved in some of the swaps. You'll be glad you did. Be sure to share your knowledge of herbs. We learn from each other.

Thank you Carol. It is good to hear from a fellow Georgian. Sometimes I feel like a round peg in a square hole in the west. Idaho is pretty friendly though and we like it here. I was born and raised in Northern Georgia by the tri-state area where Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee connect. We were about 15 or so miles from Chattanooga. Where is Waynesboro. I am looking forward to getting more into the chats and to work on sisterhood badges. I will always be a country girl. My dad used to say, "You can tell a country girl from a city girl after a rain because the country girl walks through the puddles and is barefoot. (That would be me back in the day) and a city girl has shoes on and walks around it". But guess who had more fun.
Blessings to all. Earline.

Waynesboro is about 30 miles south of Augusta in the Central Savannah River Area. I do love the north Georgia mountains for beauty though. We visited in Idaho several years ago. Beautiful country and friendly people. Wow them with your Southern hospitality. No one can resist it!
