Some of you may have already met our dog Georgi-Boy (http://lalauland.tumblr.com/post/78459534234/georgi-goes-doeeyed) via the blog. He's our boxer-bulldog-beagle (yes, all three, no we don't know how) mix.
A couple weeks back, he began showing symptoms of having parasites, but we've taken the time to research and know for certain. The problem I am facing presently is this:
- Our home is ENTIRELY carpeted, except the bathroom and kitchen, which I've no way of shutting him into -- not that I'd want to.
- Georgi is usually quite good about letting us know when he's got to go outside -- the parasites have ruined this for him. Now you can see the look of desperation on his face as he realizes he should've asked 2 seconds ago...
- Due to our recent move, about 1/2 of our household goods are stuck in South Carolina in a storage facility until we can afford a UHaul. I do not have a vacuum or any form of carpet cleansing tools.
I have been using this method to clean our carpets until we can afford a more appropriate cleaner, such as a steam cleaner to further help this method. (http://lalauland.tumblr.com/post/73377409542/tipsy-tuesday-cleaner-carpets) Well, at this point, something happened to the scrub brush, so now we can't even scrub stuff out of the carpets effectively until DH is paid again.
What can I do in the meantime? I'm watching Georgi very closely and trying to predict when he needs to go before he has an accident, but this is very difficult to do. I'm confident we can clean this properly soon, but I need some ideas for cleaning up after him (as best we can) in the meantime.
Thank you in advance.

diatomaceous earth kills parasites and is non-chemical. Add a very tiny amount to Georgi-Boy's food dish, very little. Also, sprinkle it onto your carpets and especially in his bed. You can also sprinkle it directly onto his fur. It won't harm him, or anyone/anything except the parasites, including fleas. No fuss, no muss, very affordable, I get mine at the Tractor Store at less than $10 for a large jar. I add it to my chickens food to keep them parasite free and my daughter uses it for her dogs. It got rid of that parasite problem fast.
Best of luck to you and Georgi-Boy.
