I received more blocks this weekend... Nancy, Carol and Holly........I love how beautiful they all are, and how they look when I laid all the blocks received so far side by side. Waiting on 9 others.

Kathleen, How are you going to put yours together once all blocks are in? I'm thinking of putting a trim around each block. Will see. Deb

Hi Deb, I am thinking the same. Using a sash to outline each block maybe a little thinner than the rectangles within the block, about 1 1/2". There are a few ways we can finish.... we could also put the blocks on the diagonal, so they are set tip to tip and insert a "blank" block as filler.

I just ordered 1 yard each of Kona cotton in different shades of green. Eventually I would like to make a large bedspread so I'm thinking of placing the solid squares between the friendship squares and trimming the entire top with outline strips and a solid color binding.

I am glad you all are enjoyiing the blocks I sent. Debra I never noticed that we chose the same green until you mentioned it. I am glad I did not notice because then I would have had to figure out some thing else. Well, we are both New Englanders. lol

Lei,
Thank you for the quilt block. I like the colors you chose. It arrived today.
I had a friend who graduated from Maryville college in 1956. She had fond memories of the area and the school.

I received Lei's quilt block yesterday. It is another great addition to my bed quilt.
Here is a picture of the fabric I I puchased to make solid blocks to place between the Friendship Blocks and expand the piece into a quilt to cover the double bed.
I know it looks blue. It is actually 3 different shades of green. I will start putting my blocks together starting June 1 first after school is out.

Thanks, Denise, I received your block today. I love the way these blocks are blending.
Marie, I take it you teach school or homeschool. I'm counting down the days myself. We're settling our daughter into her new apartment the weekend of May 30, then I intend to set up a sewing room in her abandoned digs and get to quilting. Hope the end of your year is smooth.
Blessings,

Nope, don't have kids and at my advanced menopause state, unlikely to have any. I volunteer at the grade school one-half block away. I also teach crochet in the after school program.
I just received the block from Denise. I really like the colours.

We picked up our mail a day late so today I received the pretty square from Denise. I like it because it has summer colors.
Thank you Marie for posting a picture.
