That's great Marie! Glad to have you join us. I will email you the block information and the list of quilters. Just keep track of who sends you a block, and to whom you send one of your blocks (when the time comes).

NIXKAT....I can't stand it....sign me up and send me the info. I love a quilt and I love my MJF sisters and this is such a cool swap. I will do my very best to get them all send out. What is the deadline for having the blocks sent out (or is there a deadline) ?? I love the blocks that have been posted so far.

lol, it was just a matter of time Daizy! Glad to have you join us. At this point we do not have a deadline for sending out the blocks, just try and get them out in a timely manner. Should we decide we need a deadline I feel it best to have everyone agree on a date since many of us are getting into the busiest season and already have so many prior commitments.
Email your mailing address to me and I will get the block info and quilter's list to you.

I know Daizy. I got sucked in also. This is just an idea - Once everyone has sent and received the Friendship Block pattern Kathleen sent us, we could all do another block design and send that out also. Just brain stormin' here.

I received squares from Kathleen and Debra this weekend. Yay! I'm working online to get out. My older kiddos are going to help. This great for learning units if measure. Yay Daizy! I'm glad you're joining us.

Hay Kathleen,
I got your beautiful quilt square in the mail today. So awesome...I am very glad I decided to join. FYI, it is purple polka dots and has white on points and yellow on yellow on the opposite points. Very nice work, I might add. This is going to be one fantastic quilt when done. I think I will display it in my camper and when we have trailer tours everyone will see it.
One question, Is there any special care needed to set in the writing. I don't want it to wash out EVER!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words Daizy, I am glad you like the block. As far as I know, no special treatment is needed to preserve the writing, I used a Sharpie and so far I have not seen that ink wash out.
Also, I am resending the block information. Different computer, new file, hope it works for you this time. :)

I am going to do an assembly line cutting and sewing day soon and get them all done at once. It will go faster that way.

I stack my fabric, get my ruler and rotary cutter, and in one fell swoop cut through all the layers. A few cuts later, all my pieces are ready for the assembly line. Unless I am fortunate to have a few bits of fabric that are at least the size of a fat quarter, that makes it even easier and faster to get all my shapes cut fast and accurately. I remember my early quilting days when I would use a template and draw each shape onto the cloth, then cut it using scissors. Took forever! It still surprises me that I managed to keep all those squares straight and perfectly joined.
Ah, don't you miss the old days? :)

i'll be doing the "old fashioned way" ! haven't gotten my rotary cutter yet :(
tomorrow is my last day of work for awhile -til I get a new job :( :( :( so I hope to get the machine going soon!
