Oh she is so cute!! and peggy, I can not believe they use wool!! wow that was a surprise for me. Does anyone have the url for the tilda cloth for her bodies. I would just like to check it out. I am back from vacation and peggy, did you mail me the overalls pattern? I just wanted to make sure it did not get lost in the mail since it is not here. my mother in law has been bringing in the mail and who knows what she could have done with it,if you sent it. but, if you did I will start looking for it... If not that is perfectly fine, since I was not home anyway, I just love all the talk on ere, I am learning things about Tilda that I did not know at all and would never have found out for not having this.. Thank you all very much!!!

Beverly I didn't mail it yet. You said you were in no hurry so I thought I would pop it in with your Tilda. I just got the Christmas book too with the Pixies and Santas on the front. They are so cute!!

The shop that sells Tilda fabric has a link on the Tilda Blog page. They give a list by country and I looked at the UK one. But apparently they are the only business that carries it.They don't give much information and the place I found out about the wool was on Craftsy. Someone that had made Tilda's wrote what the materials used were in her explanation. When I read it it made sense because the fabric really doesn't look like muslin or anything like that. If I think of it tomorrow I will see if I can find it again.

Oh Pennie she is cute! Connie you do a marvelous job!! I love her hair what did you use?

oh you do not have to send it until you want to. I am actually glad you did not send it yet cause that way I know my mother in law did not throw it away or lose it on me. I will go check out the blog and find that link. thanks..

This is the fbric I found for body fabric for tilda. I also found the craftsy lady and her explanation. It seemed to me she was talking about what fabric she used and then she found the tilda fabric. Cause all the stuff I can find for tilda fabric is all 100% cotton fabrics. I think the wool was what she herself used. Just the way I took the explanation. So, I think we are doing fine. the one above looked a little different than muslin and it had a large shrinkage so I think the small weave would probably close up when washed. I think the larger weave under it was to show the different weaves I think the fabric is the one with the smaller weave. I would like to get a 1/4 of a yard just to see what it really was like. I saw a picture of what looked like a store that carried all of the tilda stuff and I was jealous that USA does not carry any... we are always behine!!! hehehehehehehe

I bet you're right Beverly! I saw the catalog on the Tilda site. I wish we could get those things here :( It is so expensive to order from the UK. I re read the Craftsy Lady's comment and I think it was something she used too. But it looks perfect. And when you get a close up of the Tildas in a book they have a fuzzy look sometimes so I bought into the wool pretty easily. It just doesn't look like cotton for some reason to me. I must have had a complete disconnect ( hahaha) because I looked at the fabric at Panduro Hobby and they have been sold out forever. I tried again this morning and even search won't give me a picture anymore. I don't have a problem using muslin anyway.

I was playing with the idea of tea dying one for myself sometime too. Prims are another doll style I have thought really cute. In fact I just bought a Raggedy Ann and Andy pattern from an Etsy shop that makes 9" tall Raggedy Prims. They are just sweet. This is the link.

Those are cute. I think the 100% cotton they use over in the UK and the netherlands were the designer lives is not as nice as ours is over here. It does look like a large weave until it is washed. We can get some very nice muslin with a smaller weave to begin with I think. Maybe I just think our things over here are nicer!! hehehehehe someday I may order a fat quarter just to check it out though. Happy sewing!!!

The Girl who runs the Tilda Fan Page on Face Book said like Peggy just said, you have to order from the UK. and it is super expensive. The picture of the fabric you found on Ebay is very Similar to medium broadcloth that we have here at Hancock's. The closes thing available in my area is LINEN it is 17.00 a yard and to me looks a little nicer than the fabric The TIlda Book used for their Bunnies. It almost looks like burlap but not as open weave. I don't like the way it pulls apart at the seams in the pictures after it is stuffed.

I inboxed her a question and she is asking TONE FINNANGER and said she will get back with an answer. All the Scandinavian ladies on that site are so nice and so helpful! They told me they loved the fabric on Pennie's Witch. It is madras for $5.99 a yard at Hancock's and Hancock's is online. I just bought the softest fake fur for the Winter Tilda there for $6.99 on sale from $12.99

Happy Sewing! I"m out working in the garden now, so I don't have time to sew for awhile:(

Which book is the one with the bunnies in? I was just looking at the weaver's cloth that is tea dyed ,came that way, and it looks like kinda that fabric.
I think I might use it so peggy can tell me what she thinks..

I was wondering about Osnaburg too. There are are few different weaves I think and I think you can shrink so that it is tight. I was also thinking about wool felt for the smaller Tildas. I have one pattern from Mollie Makes magazine and I would hate to have to sew it and turn it. I do think they intend for you to enlarge though it doesn't say so and it would be awfully cute the size it is.

I originally thought Tilda skin was linen because that is what it looked like. Then I misread the Craftsy lady hahaha soooo...Either way it's an adventure. I am definitely going to do a tea dyed one next.

Connie that's great! Now we will know the TRUTH LOL! Maybe Tone Finnegar will have a suggestion or two.
That link is lovely too. :)

Do any of you belong to this forum??? I am checking out a thread where people share where they get their Tilda materials. If someone already posted this please ignore me. I am having a lot of duh moments this week. lol

Minutes later....there doesn't really seem to be any activity there and all the shops were overseas :(

Got an answer back from, the lady who runs the Tilda face book page. These are the suppliers for the USA, but you have to just check and see what they have, they don't carry all of her supplies.

Boulder, Colorado- www.eQuilter.com- 1-877-322-7423

Coats and Clark USA- Greenville S.C. www.coatsandclark.com 1-800-648-1479

Connecting Threads-Vancouver, WA. www.connectingthreads.com 1-800-574-6454

Keepsake Quilting New Hampshire www.keepsakequilting.com 1-800525-8086

The craft Connection Virginia www.craftconn.com 1-888-204-4050

Hamels Fabrics- CANADA www.hamelsfabrics.com

Other than these, Great Britain is the closest Country for mail order! and she said The USA has many online fabric companies as well, that are very comparable.

I am going to check these out.

I had checked Coats and Clark and Keepsake Quilting. I tried searching Tilda fabrics or whatever and never came up with anything. If you find anything on these sites I wish you would post the page link because I gave up. She does list these companies in the backs of the books I have too but I couldn't find anything, I thought maybe they are only in there for ribbons or thread or something like that??? I don't know.
