I have always been active and usually love to exercise. Over the years my passion sports have changed many times.
I used to be an avid runner. But as I have gotten older my body doesn't take so well to the high impact. So then I became a power walker. And now I realize I hate the cold weather. and walking outside in the winter really stinks.
So my new favorite is the elliptical machine at the gym. I get the thrill of running with no impact and the warmth of a gym.
How about all of you? What do you do to keep in shape?

Our local community center has fitness classes in the pool. My daughter and I like the deep water aerobic sessions twice a week. Just this last year they started a water zumba class on Saturday mornings, at the outdoor pool in the summer and indoors the rest of the year. It is a riot, lots of laughter, great teachers, a serious workout for women from their 20s to their 70's, as hard or easy as you want to make it.

I never thought of myself as an "exercise person" until I discovered zumba. Unfortunately machines and jogging bore me to tears, so I would never stick with a gym for very long. Zumba feels more like going to a dance party than exercising. I also love playing tennis, albeit not very well. :) The key to sticking with exercise is truly to find an activity you love!

I love riding my bike. Unfortunately the brutal winter we've had this year has not allowed me to get out for a nice ride. I also really like my exercise dvd's. I have two that have 5 sets of 10 minute work outs on them. One is "Dance Off Belly Fat" and the other is "Core Fusion Thighs & Glutes". Both are excellent and I do 2 routines from each every day. Even on the days I really want to skip, I figure I can do at least one routine for 10 minutes & before I know it, I'm off and going with the other 3.

I love yoga. Unlike most "exercises" there is no goal except to be in the moment. The only person you compete with is yourself. I've also been working out on the Life Circuit machines at Nautilus (we get a free membership this year as part of out hospital's Wellness Initiative). It makes me feel stronger and I no longer have all that pain in my shoulders. (I carry tension in my shoulders). Next I plan to start doing some cardio workouts to rev up my metabolism. I also love to hike--it's been too cold and icy to hike this winter but I hope to get out soon--nothing like communing with nature. It's my chapel. And everyone is welcome. Cindy

I love going for walks and bike riding (once winter is finally over). Haven't been outside walking much this winter b/c of the brutal cold but do have a treadmill in the living room.

Grace. that is funny. I really want a sport like 'restaraunt hopping'. I would be the thinnest, most in shape person ever.

I was going to say Fork-lifting :)
I am bad I have not worked out in forever. When I did I loved using the weight machines at the gym.

Grace and Sharon... I'm with you!!! My favorite exercise of all is lifting the ice cream spoon slowly to my lips, and then swooping down gently again into the hot fudge sundae to gracefully pick up another bite - LOL! It's magical!
Seriously, though... Swimming and walking... Luxurious swims early on summer mornings and long, relaxing walks with friends late in the afternoons. And yes, Tiana also really hit the nail on the head: Gardening!
I'd love to try Zumba sometime, though... It looks like a blast! All in due time!

I love love love yoga! Especially practicing outside. It's a great way to stretch and strengthen muscles. It is relaxing and hardworking at the same time!

I enjoy hiking, yoga and tai chi but my favorite is belly dance. It is extremely relaxing and easy on the joints.

I love walking. It clears my mind. Lately, I've been bike riding. I love to excercise. Marly

I need to exercise and I don't want to do it while going no where. I walk and stay standing when not moving as much as possible. I have a goal of working in the garden for one hour every day in the garden. I love to swim and do so whenever possible. Exercise machines bore me also.
