We had our first calf yesterday evening!!! A beautiful red and white bull. It was a very cold, windy day, but he decided to come out anyway :) Hopefully next week when the next 3 come it will be a little warmer.

I'd like to chime in :-) My resident doves are here. Yipee!!! They return every Spring & are such a joy. They let me pet them & never fly off when I water my plants where they nest. I just put out a nesting box of sorts for them, same one I put out last Spring before I got my hanging plants. They are cooing about the porch.

Madeline, I love that little vintage print you posted! Does anyone else here love early Spring violets? They grew wild in my yard growing up and I remember picking little bouquets in the early days of Spring.

Love the posts and pictures girls...we have the violets here and some people hate the little dandelions but I get so excited to see them pop up all over the yard...the sweet little birds woke us up this morning...their chirping is such a welcome sound :):):)

We have some more spring arrivals!!! These are my nephew's 4-H project that he keeps at our farm since he lives in town.
One mama wasn't very good (it's her first time) so we had to bring one in to warm up a bit
There's 2 ewes. They both had 2 lambs each on the same day! They all look the same right now.
We also had a new calf born (a girl this time) just a little bit ago. She's currently getting a bath and testing out her legs :) We have 4 more cows due this week!! And, it's finally supposed to start warming up!!!!!!! We were supposed to get 10-12 inches of snow this weekend but we only got 3-4. By Saturday it's supposed to be in the 40's with some rain. I keep looking for my crocuses, but they're no where in sight yet. I wish I had some of those wild spring violets! I do have some tulips and daffodils that should follow very closely behind the crocuses. My neighbor told me a couple years ago that peas are supposed to be planted by St. Patrick's day. I wasn't sure we'd even see the ground by then!! Has anyone done any early spring planting yet?

OH, such awesome posts!! Love all the Pictures!! My power has been out for 2 days! I'm so happy to be back!!!! Congrats Heather, New babies for Spring! I love Violets! We have a lot of Wild ones! Maddie, our doves have not returned yet, maybe after all this ice melts! We got the least of the Storm, we got 1 inch of ice on all the tress and power lines, Thankful for no downed trees this time, my neighbor lost 2 -50 year old pin oaks.

Heather~ What darling posts of the baby black lambs!! So cute!
Oh, Connie, no power for 2 days and more ice and nasty weather? So weird for Tennessee this time of year, isn't it? We are getting a week of cold damp rain again. Spring is popping out but we are having fewer nice sunny days than usual. Everyone is so over this cold miserable Winter!

I love that picture Alicia! Luckily just the 2 pin oaks this time, in 1994, we had an ice storm that lasted a week here, with no power, we lost quite a few trees that year. We live on 3 acres of solid woods. Losing 1 tree makes me sad!
Winnie, this is the longest Winter I can remember in W.Tennessee!! I am ready for it to go! Hugs! Connie Imagine....#3392 |

You girls are making me anxious for Spring :)
Heather, the pictures of you and your babies are adorable! We think that one of our pigs may be pregnant and if she is around March 25th is her due date. I am anxious to find out!
I have heard the Meadowlarks for the past couple of days and saw some Bluebirds checking out our birdhouses. It is so early for them to be coming around but I love it :)
Thank you everyone for sharing your wonderful pics :)

Sharon, I love hearing the birds!! We had about 10 Cardinals eating from the feeders during the ice and snow. Their splash of red against all that white was just beautiful to behold! I have Daffodils ready to burst open!
